This is it folks. You have seen peak Jakob. He may maintain for a few years but you have seen the best of him. No shame in that either as he is great. He is great for the sport. But he has stopped improving. No surprise there of course.

I disagree. He still can run 3:27 and 12:42 under right circumstances.

Yep! His fans might not want to be believe it because he’s still so young, but we have to remember he’s been training at a pro level since he was prepubescent. Because he started so early he reached his peak early. Now he is stuck on a plateau while the young Americans are improving and closing the gap fast. Jakob is number 1 for now but his days on top are numbered. Look for an American sweep at next year’s Olympics!!!

You had me until the American sweep. Now that would surprise me!

If America sweep the 1500 in Paris I will sell my house and give you the proceeds. Deluded is a real disease

This had been said for at least 4 years now…”he will not improve”. Yet, here he is today kicking home off of a slow pace in an easy 3:32. He also looks stronger this year in build. I think he runs 3:27.
Jakob works on a long timeline, which most people in the US can’t understand. Progression across years of training and competition.
I predict Jakob will get very close the 1500 WR and maybe even break it, because he’s been building to this his whole life, he has the physical ability, and most importantly, he believes he will do it, almost an inevitability. And when he does it it will be an even paced race, similar to Cheptegei when he broke the 5k and 10k records.
So far, I think his (1500) peak was 2021 Olympics. It's pretty clear he could've run 3:27 that day if he kept pushing through the line. I don't know why that means he's done improving though. Kessler's 1500 peak was 2021 up until 2 days ago. 1 year where there isn't a clear improvement doesn't mean you'll never improve again.
Plus, does anyone actually think the 1500 is gonna be his best event? He doesn't, I don't, and anyone paying attention probably doesn't think so either. I think after 2024 he'll start focusing on the 5k/10k more, and he'll probably be the best guy there for a decade or so. The last 5k/10k guy to have a 3:28 PB was Farah, and Jakob could very well end up better (He's run faster than Farah's lifetime bests at everything below 10k).

What’s delusional about my post? The entire 2022 season came and went with no improvement from Jakob in the 1500. That’s not delusion, it’s reality! Meanwhile our guys are coming on strong!
Thank you for your gift! How much do you think you can get for your house? I want to start making plans for how to use the money.

Please give us your podium in the correct order I will put a grand on it just for you.
The fact that many thought he was done improving before has ZERO bearing on the current situation. Now of course he is turning 23 in September so he is young but he has been training hard for a long time. Jakob has peaked but he may still set some personal bests. Like he is probably going to break 27 minutes someday. He is a great runner. Improvements are very hard to come by now. Jakob knows this. He also knows he has a target on his back. He is a champion but he will tire of being chased. Others may be hungrier now.
Haters gonna cope, copers gonna hate, but I said years ago these kid wonders get 1 or 2 years at the top. Candles burn at both ends to reach such heights. What MD runner of any age has a long peak?
Only one way to be a Nijel Amos or a Mo Farah. It could happen, if it hasn't already. Barring that, there's no 3:27 Jakob, unless there used to be a 3:25 Jakob that never ran to potential.
