How Good Is Nur Right Now?

    Bro looked like he took "Go to sleep" a bit too literally. How fast are you if you're in the lead, trip over literal air, get trampled by 27 people, and still hop back up and win in a 13:05 PR?

    I saw people saying he's a lock for the US team, and my immediate reaction was absolutely not; Kincaid looks like he's leveled up, Chelimo looks like he's back, Fisher is the favorite, and I'd probably take Teare over Nur. Then I remembered that I vowed to never doubt Mike Smith after NCAA XC, so I think Nur is a lock for the team.

    He's training with Kincaid (12:51) and Grijalva (4th at Worlds); Is he in low 12:50s shape too?

    Edit: I just realized Kincaid is part of Mike Smith Elite too so he's also a lock. Looks like the team is gonna be the same as last year

    Nur looked world class out there. Not saying that he actually is but he's gonna be tough to beat at USA's

    he got 11th at worlds last year. All the Mike smith guys should be 12:50-13:00 in a good race

    You’re forgetting about Klecker saying he’s doubling back.

    Woody and Klecker have a history of getting dropped after the pace starts to ratchet up so these fast time trial times aren’t necessarily indication of a good world’s performance.

    Grant and Luis are the only ones you’ve listed that have evidence of being able to hang with the big guns. Can’t medal if youre out of the race with a lap to go.

    Yeah, Kincaid has a habit of coming up small in international championship races.

    Reminder to never doubt The Mike Smith. Grijalva 3rd/12:52 and Kincaid top American/12:54 with a 54 close. Definitely the best 5k group in the country after BTC's showing today (even though Grant and Mo both broke 13!!!).
