LRC Timothy Wins Battle of Cheruiyots in LA as 20-Year-Old Hobbs Kessler Arrives with 3:32 PB

Kessler took down US champ Cooper Teare, running 3:32.61. Only one American has run faster before their 21st birthday.

LRC 2023 LA Grand Prix: Crouser Breaks WR as the Stars No-Show in Women’s 100

Richardson, Ta Lou, and Hobbs all DNSd the women's 100 final but the stars that did compete in LA brought it and produced 7 world leads including Crouser's WR.

Wow. Look who didn't show up for women's 100 final.

Someone had to win the women's 100. Officially it was Morolake Akinosun in 10.97 but the big news was who didn't run in the final.

Catching up on a lot of events. World record and several world leaders.

Ryan Crouser has broken the shot WR (23.56), Jasmine Camacho-Quinn (12.31) has won a stacked women's 100h, Ajee Wilson won the women's 800 (1:95.01), Diribe Welteji ran a world leader 3:57.84 in the women's 1500 and Timothy Cheruiyot ran a world leader in the men's 1500 (3:31.47) as Hobbs Kessler had a breakthrough in third in 3:32.61. In the most recent event,  Marileidy Paulino ran a 48.98 pb to wi the women's 400.

Women’s 200

In the women's 200, which only featured American runners, Jenna Prandini got the win in 22.34 in her first 200 of the year as former USC Trojan Twanisha Terry PRds in second (22.44). Olympic medallist Gabby Thomas was only 4th in 22.85.

Men’s 400- Sean Bailey PRs (Again)


Former UTEP runner Sean Bailey of Jamaica had never broken 45.00 unitl this year (45.04 pb ). This year, he's raced the 400 three times and broken 45 in all three races, but today’s run was the most significant as he ran down Kirani James late and got the win in 44.43 to James’ 44.50. Bailey is the younger brother of two-time Olympic 200m champ Veroncia Campbell Brown.

CJ Allen PRs and wins 400h

After Kyron Mcmaster bit it on hurlde #8, there was no on close to American CJ Allen who won in a pb of 47.91. Allen, who was 4th last year at USAs, PRd for the 2nd straight race as he ran 47.93 in Doha where he was 2nd.

Clayton Murphy makes a statement

Murphy looked great to win a strong 800m over US rivals such as Isaiah Jewett and Isaiah Harris, timing his kick perfectly to go from 4th to 1st with 200 to go. US champ Bryce Hoppel looked way off the pace and was DFL in 1:48.19.

Abdihamid Nur got an impressive win after falling, Nico Young the high school record, and Madie Boreman a huge PB and Worlds standard.

LRC Lex Young Breaks High School 5000m Record

Abdihamid Nur fell and got the win as Lex Young broke the high school 5000m record.

Abdihamid Nur Falls on 1st Lap, Wins and Gets World Standard ad Lex Young Breaks High School 5000m Record

This was the race of the night, as Nur fell on the first lap but got up and would kick away to the win on the final lap and dip under the 13:07 Worlds standard in a pb of 13:05.17 as the top 8 all set outdoor PRs.

Back in 18th place was the most historic performance of the night, as Lex Young ran 13:34.96 to break Connor Burns 3-week old high school 5000m record of 13:37.30.

Elise Cranny Blows Up

After being paced by her teammate Karissa Schweizer for the first 3200 Cranny picked up the pace for a lap and seemed to be poised to maybe challenge the WC standard of 14:57 if she could kick. Instead, Cranny started to blow up with 3 laps to go and was overtaken by Emily ipari before the bell and would fade to 4th as Lipari got the win.

Emily Mackay Wins "B" 1500

Emily Mackay of New Balance, who was 6th at NCAAs last year, was the only runner who even attempted to stay close to the rabbit, and got the convincing win as Krissy Gear closed well in second as Collene Quigley ran 4:10.59 in her first track race of 2023.

Kieran Lamb wins with ease.

Kieran Lamb, who ran for the great UW Huskies team this year indoors, but now runs for On, powered away from Eric Holt on the final lap thanks to a 55.30 final lap.

Leo Young of Newbury Park missed his PB of 3:39.39.

NCAA Champ Ahmed Jaziri gets the win

Under Armour athletes went 1-2 in this one as Jaziri, last year's NCAA champ, got the win and a PB but came up short of the worlds standard of 8:15.

Huge win and PB for Madie Boreman

The unsponsored Boreman who ran at CU and now works with Deon Sanders and the CU Football team got not only the win but a the worlds standard by .01 as she got a huge PR of over 10 seconds from her previous best of 9:33.02.
