2023 USATF Distance Classic Results

Results for today’s 2023 USATF Distance Classic – the precursor to the Los Angeles Grand Prix held at UCLA’s Drake Stadium in Los Angeles, California – appear below.

The big race of the night was the men’s 5,000m with the top 8 all running PBs. Abdihamid Nur fell inside the first lap, but recovered extremely well to win in a new PB and world standard of 13:05.17. Additionally, Lex Young broke the High School 5,000m record with a time of 13:34.96.

Men’s 5,000m – Abdihamid Nur Falls and Wins, Lex Young Breaks High School Record

The best race of the night was the men’s 5,000m with the top 8 all running outdoor PBs. Women’s 5,000m – Elise Cranny Blows Up as Lipari Wins

Emily Lipari won the women’s 5,000m as Elise Cranny blew up the final 3 laps, after her Bowerman teammates were finished with their pacing duties. Cranny fell to fourth as Lipari took the win.

Women’s 3000mSC – Madie Boreman Gets Huge PB and Worlds Standard

A new name was added to the shortlist of potential women who could qualify for the U.S. women’s Worlds team in the steeplechase as Madie Boreman runs a 10 second PB and hits the world standard by a hundredth of a second.
