You might not get all the girls to agree but if just one took a seat or knee at the starting line after the gun goes off and refuses to move, it would be a significant protest that could start a real conversation about the travesty that this is.
What needs to happen is the girls simply walk off the track refusing to compete.
The solution is for a couple of girls to walk off the track and not compete? Talking about really losing an opportunity, that's losing more then losing to one of the mentioned athletes. You won't get everyone that's for sure. Not everyone thinks the same way you do.
And most are too afraid. I don’t want my daughter hunted down for speaking her mind on this matter. Think of all the MEN that will attack her!
I have watched videos of the two trans kids...and obviously feel bad for them knowing their life can't be easy.
My daughter has asked me about this in the past and I have assured her that it wouldn't affect her. Now she's going to have to line up in a prelim on California's biggest stage against one of them...and hopefully she'll make the final (and then face both of them).
But these kids are getting faster and this problem is not going away.
REAP WHAT YOU (probably) VOTED FOR.
Way better than 60% chance this is true. Like all the so-called migrants being housed in NYC hotels at tax payer expense. None of these woke policies come without a cost, social or financial. The crazies are in charge in most Blue states, and the Federal Government.
I am not trying to 'discredit' anyone. I try not to get involved with politics that don't affect me. I actually try not to get involved with politics in general. Yet this has come up a lot recently and I've been dismissive (until now). I didn't vote for this (as someone hinted at).
Obviously, for me, it's hard to understand the side that thinks a boy can compete with a girl (on even playing field). As I pointed out, I empathize knowing these two individuals are not 'trying' to cheat or anything.
Another poster asked me how my daughter felt about it. She's empathetic that this person doesn't feel like a boy. But she's confused on how to treat her as a competitor. And she's clear on if this person robs her of a place on the podium or a spot in the final that she's going to be upset. But until then, she'll race everyone and just focus on herself and doing her best on Friday/Saturday.
I'm not particularly worried about either of these two competitors...it's just the trend that worries me. And it's two of them in one race @ State, which raises some eyebrows (and fulfills California stereotypes)
There are already two girls sitting at home whose season was unfairly ended a week too soon.
Do you vote Democrat? Because i can tell you, strong republican states do not put up with this anti science choose your gender nonsense.
Let me guess...you vote Democrat, but "I never actually voted on Trans issues...." oh you did. Only one party supports this and it's not the GOP.
This situation needs to be approached in away that shows the unfairness to girls but also recognizes that trans people are going through something and want to compete.
I stick with my solution of having an open category and a female category.
Identifying as female to be viewed that way isn’t enough to be allowed to compete against them with an unfair advantage. They shouldn’t be banned from athletics completely.
No. You can identify culturally as whatever sex or animal you want.
For competitions, college applications, id cards etc, it's your actual gender.

As a parent or student athlete, nothing changes until you fight against this nonsense. Otherwise you own this anti-female woke stupidity.
Just a book keeping question here - How transgender documented? Is it from high school records or is there a separate process at the beginning of a sports season where someone declares gender?
Obviously SDSU didn't teach you how probability works. There are 24 athletes in the OP's daughter's situation. The chances that at least one parent of the 24 reads Letsrun is very high. What you are doing is just trying to dox and harass him/her. And please don't waste your money on lottery tickets
…and let’s also remember that the odds that one of the two trans kids (and their parents) are reading this board is also high
In the race video, I was shocked at what the parents were saying in the stands. The athlete’s parent were surely in the stands not too far away and the kid herself surely watched the race video afterwards.
Good . Maybe they will get a clue. We need to stop being afraid of offending the .1% at the expense of the 99.9%.

I don't feel bad for you at all.
I am in the same camp. They helped create this crap. What did they think would happen? I believe it gets worse (crazier) before the backlash turns the tide.

Then they just lose again. This isn't the answer.
Didn't some other sport's girls team try this because they wouldn't play against a team with a tg kid and their team was thrown out for the rest of the season?
I think the only solution is to lean into this hard.
Get a conservative Christian private school in California to field a basketball team of males that all "identify" as females. Watch them go undefeated and destroy the competition at state by enormous margins.
Liberals will seethe and stop the nonsense.
I'm not kidding. I bet I could get a trolling alt right organization to fund a team of athletic males to do this....

So they should throw out the biggest opportunity they have ever had in the sport to take a knee and watch everyone else compete?

Not talking a couple girls, am talking none of the girls run, they won't be letting this happen. Just a.....I won't be running how about the rest of you ladies.
This stupdity has to stop it;s totally ridiculous and we all know it. I have three older sisters I gurantee they wouldn;t have let this happen, they would have made it very clear this is stupid and I want nothing to do with this lunacy.
Girls play soft ball for a reason.

Good luck with that. I am sure the entire field doesn't share the same view as you and most wouldn't give up the opportunity to race at State for any reason.

There is a real possibility one of them will win the whole thing and by next year they will be clocking in the 4:20s. Taking down all of the state records. Sucks that we all just have to watch it happen.
Doesn't matter what their running futures look like. It doesn't even matter how they race at CIF. They took two girls' spots. How many did they slight along the way?
