Please everyone drink responsibly! Life is too short and too meaningful to overindulge in hops in the city where Paul Revere made his midnight ride. Pretty sure he was sober whilst riding his liberty loving steed.
A great time was had by all. Wejo kept it together enough to pick up the tab and drive home to CT and I made my flight home on time.
Jamin, given that it's 2023, we of course didn't ask people what sex they were assinged at birth but you'll see it wasn't all male here:
The LetsRun Boston meetup featured some of the finest beer (including the impossible-to-find Heady Topper) and people in the country. Let's see here, a former USA 4th placer, a former NCAA 3rd placer, a current tv personality and more. https://t.co/S4iRWwbbxNpic.twitter.com/aunti91Bgz
Wait, what? You guys came to Boston for the marathon and didn’t even stay to watch the race?
I was wondering the same thing, but I thought I remember one of the Brojos saying on the podcast that they would be at the race (joking about Wellesley). I wouldn’t want to stay in Boston at marathon weekend pricing if I didn’t have to.
I hope Letsrun makes this an annual event. I’ll be there next year, and would bring my wife to a meetup.
Why so coy? Total numbers and name the cool people that showed up! Otherwise, it's going to be embarrassing if Seth James DeMoor gets better attendance for his DGR shake out run.
Am not into IPAs at all but it sounds like you're swimming upstream on this one.
I find the other beer they make, Focal Banger, to be superior. Heady Topper is good though.
I had a Heady Topper a long time ago, and it was great, if not quite up to its "best IPA" reputation. Haven't been impressed at all the few times I've had it recently. It seems that they've expanded availability, so in the past several months I've a can from each of three different canning dates, and each within 7 weeks of canning (not in New England). Meh. Never had it on draft. I like Focal Banger, but it's still probably not even a top-20 IPA for me. I still respect the call of going for the Heady Topper at the meetup, though.
For those in Boston who like these things, I've found Tree House beers at a couple of different restaurants/pubs there a few years I went (last in 2019). King Julius, Julius, and Green are among the best IPAs I've had. Always great at happy hour after a postrace nap.
