The Tuhoy fan boys want to pretend that 3:59 never happened. 4:06 doesn't match up too well with it. And she did it without super shoes. What is KT running without super shoes ...4:10?
Is speed her issue though? In both the Millrose 3k & Sound running 5k she hit a wall on the second to last lap which seems like an endurance problem. I am glad she is working on her speed though, all things considered.
She’s focusing on the 1500 to improve her speed for the ultimate goal: A fast finish in the 5000m.

That’s a good point. She’s in a program that doesn’t focus on middle distance runners but I believe she’s a natural in the 1500-3000 range. The 5000 is very competitive and there are perhaps as many as a dozen US athletes with PR’s faster than 15:03. As far as I know the numbers are smaller for sub 4:06 runners. I figure that’s the reason for the 1500 focus rather than speed work for the 5000.
She has quite a lot of work to do in order to surpass Jenny's college career.

You continue spouting your BS vying for the title of chief troll…when you know very well that the title of this thread would attract KT followers, like it or not. Since you clearly harbor open resentment against her and/or her followers why not stay out of the discussion. Bitter wankers like you can’t help yourself for reasons only you and your counselors can fathom. Peace!
No, not another Jenny. Jenny was really ahead of her time. Did it all in the old shoes, too. And no other women around her speed at the time of her collegiate peak.
She has never finished a 1500m below 63s so I am not sure where you are getting that. Simone Plourde just closed her 1500m in 61s, there are definitely other college runners who could outkick her in a sit and kick tactical race.
She finished last year’s 4:06 in a 63. She said she was able to run a 400 in 57 in yesterday’s interview so yes I am extrapolating being able to finish in the 60-62 range based on the progression she’s shown lately and her 400 speed. Sit and kick is not the answer to pulling out a 4:02 world standard IMO. Ideally the flow for the mile should be 64, 64, 63, 62. I think she’s in 4:02 shape now…of course all things need to go right. A 4:02 would translate to a 4:20 mile. Show me a collegiate female athlete that can pull that off today…If they exist in the US they need to prove it.
So other collegiate athletes need to "prove it", but KT somehow gets a pass and doesn't need to prove it because you're able to extrapolate for her?

tammy j is a dbag. She really has a hard on for KT.
Didn't appear to be the K T who set mile and 3K records. Looked more like the runner who ran 4:08 last week for 1500. Post race interview sounded like post race interview after Boston in December. Nevertheless moved from 10th to 2nd on the all time list for 5K by woman in college .Now trails Jenny on the table by 9 points 44 for Jenny to 35 for K T. Kipyego is 3rd with 27. Karissa appears to be 4th with 15 points. All of the times by Jenny were from 2009 when she was a senior .Only has 1 performance as a junior in the Steeple 9:29:20 still on the top 10 performance list.
Cmon, we all know 100% that you have to also figure in shoes...multiple seconds per 1500. Hail trackjenny.
"taking the full 4 years" is not a good argument in MD running as everyone knows. Some run well early some late. It is what it is, JS still on top. KT is still a distant second. Now if you are trying to point out that she might have some awesome upside with 2 years left, then sure, but we shall see. MD running is a cruel stepmother.

Nonsense! She closed in a 63 exactly 12 months ago. Since then she’s broken collegiate mile and 3K records, indicating continued progress, if not accelerated. Going from a 63 close to a 62 during this progress is not a stretch, since she recorded a 57 quarter in a recent practice. The proof will come in the coming days. If I’m proven wrong the familiar trolls here will surely point it out.
