When Jenny Simpson graduated college in 2009 she was # 1 all time in(5 of the 7 NCAA championship distance races) the 1500,mile,3K, Steeple and 5k. She was only missing the 800 and 10K.13 years later she is still #1 in the 1500,mile and 5k,2nd in the 3K and 4th in the Steeple.Katelyn is currently 7th in the 1500 and 10th in the 5K.I think she might move up to 1st or 2nd on Saturday in the 5K.If she stays healthy,I think she can be # 1 in the mile,3K and 5K and probably 2nd in the 1500 by the end of the year.Using a 10 to 1 rating for each event,Jenny had a score of 50 when she graduated. 13 years later she still has a score of 46 .Katelyn presently only has a score of 5.If she becomes #1 in the Mile,3K and5K and 2nd in the 1500 she will total 39 points and Jenny will be reduced to 43 points. To catch her she will need to add an event, probably the 10K in a year or two. I don't see her in the Steeple or the 800. Who thinks that Katelyn Tuohy will overtake Jenny Simpson as the"GOAT" of U S college distance runners either this year or in the future?
