Just found out that Defor is in the entry list for Lefty Wright. He ran the second fastest time at Edina the last time he raced with the team (Alexandria) AND he was in their top 2 for nonseniors last year. Sometimes he was their #1 overall as a sophomore and junior. If he can’t race at sections because he has an injury or a sickness then why is he racing in this?
I see what you're saying, technically it looks like he is Edina's number 2. Something going on behind the scenes. I will deem him as the JV state champion of this season in the state of Minnesota.
I wonder if Wayzata can put 7 in the top 25 at state this year or next year. That would be cool to see. That was their goal in 2017 but their sometimes #1 guy Grant Price didn’t race so they replaced him with a 16:30 guy at state. I think they can put 5 in the top 15. Their 6th can keep up with them on a good day. Their 7th ran a sub-17 last year as a freshman at conference. He only dropped 7 seconds from last year’s conference time. Many people make much larger freshman-to-sophomore improvements. I think they can put 6 in the top 25. their 7th has long ways to go but based on his sub-17 as a freshman last year he might have room for improvement. Shame that senior Hussein who scored for them last year at RunningLane didn’t do XC this year. He was on the same level as their 6th. Maybe next year they will have a better chance to put their 6th and 7th in the top 25. Both their 6th and 7th nonseniors are sophs who broke 16:40 this year.

Zero chance, he placed 24th at conference and you think he's going to place 25th at state?!
Mankato East should be able to take the crown and I'll predict Belle Plain in 2nd. Marshall could steal that second place, if not they have the potential to grab 4 spots for individual qualifiers.
Did Gale Woods get any rain last night? If not, we could see the winner go sub 15 again for section 6AAA. Gilles could also flirt with sub 15 in 2AAA on the same course.

This race will show how overrated Worthington has been all season. They have been sitting at #1 for so much of the season in the coach’s polls. Running on fast or short courses will do that. Their 1-3 are solid but the rest of the lineup is shaky. So no they aren’t making state from this section.
would love to see all 4 go sub 15, but looking a little windy for Thursday.
6AAA is actually on Wednesday, 10/26. Last forecast I saw for Minnetrista looks great: 53 degrees, sunny, light winds. A little rain there today, but two days to dry out. I’m thinking the course will be in fine shape. Sub-15 in the realm for the boys, and sub-17 in the realm again for Abbey (she ran a 16:51.95 here for Conference).
