What will happen is.....nothing. Despite anti-social tendencies, and violent behavior, there will be no repercussions for this young man, you know, gotta stop that pipeline to the criminal justice system by ignoring bad behavior.... wouldn't want to teach accountability, it might hurt someone's cultural feelings...
The article posted before was incorrect. The runner was running the 1600 & appeared to bump into the sprinter who was standing in lane 1 before the 4x100. The sprinter got upset by this & runs up behind him to sucker punch him. The runner did not finish the race. There were police officers there getting statements from a lot of people, unsure if the parents are pressing charges or not but I would not blame them for seeking justice for their kid.
Reality check here: who knows if charges will be filed, but that kid is done with high school sports. At this point his coach and principal will have seen the video several times and there will have been a meeting with the parents. Could be a long suspension, could be more. Schools don't screw around with violent acts caught on camera.
Where did you get this information? Seems weird that we don't know the place where this happened, and when. If Sucker McPunchington has a defense, it would be interesting to hear it.
My brother was in 1st place in the race. The guy who hit him was not in the race but was in my brother’s way when he came around the back curve. My brother said get off the track and pushed him out the way. On the second lap, the guy was still in or near lane one, tried to hit my brother but missed, I’m pretty sure my brother yelled something to him after he missed (the n* word was not used as people are assuming). The guy entered the race, chased down my brother, and hit him.
my brother could have gone around the guy instead of pushing him but he was on track to make a PR and was just trying to run.
it was the 1600m not the 3200m and although he got up and tried to finish the race, he was not able to. He was hit in his temple and his head was hurting too bad.

But this is exactly what the article said minus the 4x100 part.
Anyway, kind of strange we know nothing more in this world where everything is accessible online immediately.
