It m eans the world to me. It’s muy first major marathon.
I have an older brother who ran it twice...
Huh?
His brother who ran 4:15 for mile in HS and ran 2:23 in NYC Marathon
So it seems Desisa pulled a Bekele and DNFd between Mile 25.2 and Mile 26.2...he was predicted to finish in 2:17:05

Fun fact: Kiplagat is a police woman in her home country, according to Wikipedia. How amazing. Hopefully that's still a good career, unlike the US :/.
its just a pro runner. In Kenya and Ethiopia, the money for pro runners comes from the police or armed forces instead of a shoe company. It would be like saying Galen Rupp worked for Nike.
That’s exactly what he does for a living: branding and marketing for a shoe company. Probably underpaid as well.

She was 2:14:15 at 35k ... and getting faster. She started later.

She's ran every one of her marathons extremely smartly. My hot take: she runs sub-2:30 in New York
I don't see a split for 40k. Surely she would have passed 40k by now.
Tremendous result. About time Kenya showed up; Ethiopia was cleaning up in these fall marathons.

No, she apparently started later ... I don't know if a later group or just crossed the start line much later. She's at 39K now. Still on track to finish 2:41-42
Did I miss something? Maybe I did, where is Jordan Hasay?
Hasay 33rd 2:41:43
How about Des Linden?

Who won the woman’s race? Any Americans in the top 10?

2:32:33 for 40K, just passed it. She's going to be 2:40:xx
Jordan Tropf is in with a 2:32:13.
