Is there less unemployment now that what we previously had before Amazon?
What are you doing with all the good purchases you made through amazon? Can you demonstrably tell me how your life is better?
I wonder how many millionaires Amazon has made. Not Wall Street investors, but programmers and other management that earn a good living and got some equity in the last 10-15 years. I bet it’s a big number. Of course he makes the most, mainly in his ownership of the company.
He started it from scratch, not just some CEO that sits in his office and plays golf. It’s the ultimate American dream. Nobody is forced to work at Amazon.

Not only that, but also Amazon's marketplace. Plenty of regular folk have made a killing there. At times, Bezos has taken significant hits to the bottom line by banning huge vendors in China due to fake reviews.
I understand that Bezos making money = bad, but you could always just not shop there...

I'll tell you how my life is better. I spend a couple minutes buying something online at a low price and it shows up at my doorstep like the next day. I have more time to do other things and be productive instead going out shopping for every little thing I need.

I don't shop at Amazon much, however when I'm in the US I like to get groceries in Whole Foods – Amazon owned. I think this supermarket chain in particular was instrumental for for the global rise of 'better' grocery stores. Just a decade ago you didn't have much choice - at least where I live – you either shopped at cheap supermarkets and got food made from obscure ingredients or paid exorbitant prices in some sort of shop for the rich, and the food there might be as bad – just imported. Now there are tons of shops focusing on local produce, small batch stuff. It's not always expensive and when it is I generally understand what I'm paying for.
But this is a bit far-fetched to relate to Amazon. What Amazon really did to my family is give my brother enough income to buy our parents a decent house in a gated community. They were renting from a landlord who was getting senile while getting senile themselves and the war they waged on the house owner was a really sad kind of comedy. Now that they've moved out I think they got their sanity back.

Yes, the terrible, terrible thing is that some geek made a fortune off a business he started and put all his time and intelligence into. The horror!
The upside for American consumers is that the business he started allows for incredible convenience in buying products. Anyone remember having to drive to the mall to buy running shoes, standing in line at the register, hoping they had your size? And don't get me started on returns . . . .
Where do you buy your shoes now, Floyonwall? Yeah. We know. We know your type, Flyonwall.

LOL, Jeff Bezos is a dirty communist because his company got some money from the government

Companies carrying out government jobs and getting tax payer cash is a feature of capitalism.
What happens if/when USPS is privatized is they will eventually refuse to service tiny rural communities because they don't make money doing it.
So government steps in and pays them to do it. Or they'll pay Amazon to do it.
The infrastructure Amazon has developed will lead to more of these things in future. Amazon becomes part of the system and only for the benefit of Bezos and at the expense of democracy.
Random thoughts:
1) What Bezos did with Amazon is amazing. The fact it started out as a place to buy books is insane.
2) I'm not one who is immediately against billionaires, so I don't hate him because of that.
3) I AM NOT a fan of people who have affairs, so on a personal level, I think he's lame.
4) I don't think that what he said there is particularly douchey. As someone else already said, no one is forced to work at Amazon.
5) Amazon has for sure made my life better. Usually great variety, or I can find stuff there that I can't get locally at a store. I don't have to leave my house, and usually I get the item I want within a day or two.

Communism works much better, right? But only cause you and your lot get your revenge whole the other 99.99% of society starves to death.
Always amazes me (but it shouldn't) that the legacy of McCarthyism in the US is still so powerful 50 years later.
Just because someone criticises capitalism (and god knows it has lots of features to criticise), does not mean they are a communist.
It would be very possible - I personally think - to improve the way capitalism works currently to make society fairer and less destructive to the environment, in ways that have nothing to do with communism. Encouraging more co-op businesses for example.
Nothing funnier than watching socialists have meltdowns.
Just l-o-l at the stuff you get mad about.
capitalism will always win out over other systems. most people want more in life. other systems promote contentment and group thought while capitalism promotes independent thought and the encouragement to strive for more. i am not a fan of beszos and have never purchased from bezos. that is my right as an american to decide how i want to spend my money, in non capitalist countries i would not have an option.
You're right, Socialism like they have in Cuba would be so much better. Everyone is equal, except for the better people who make everyone else's lives so wonderful. Plus they have amazing health care which I'm sure is as fantastic as the rock-solid data that is typical of Authoritarian nations demonstrates.
