DC Wonk probably doesn't realize yet that Gebriwhet ran the Ethiopian Trials less than 48 hours ago... dude is a beast and on top of his game. He may have earned the selector's spot to Tokyo with this performance at 50% of his strength.

Gebriwet does not have the speed he used to, and Jakob is only getting faster. They are going in different directions. Basically Jakob has become what everyone thought he could become: able to hang with any pace, and closing speed to win the race.
Like I said, I have been a Jakob critic, but he just keeps getting better, and he looks smooth doing it. In a few years I can see him challenging the WR in the 5k, something I would would have laughed at last year.
