Womens winner Gebramaryam ran 2:19.34
He beat his previous Pb by around two minutes. He looks like a pure road runner with no track credentials to his name. He’s very tall, and looks to be over 6 feet2 in height. He’s 29 years old but started late so he still has a few years in him.

Titus - tall men can also run fast marathons!
Gerald Geay (Tanzania) 2:04:54 it was a national record, by 3 minutes for Tanzania. Not sure if Sulle’s record was ratified (2:07:46), back in 2018.
Previous record:
2:08:01 a Juma Ikangaa 5 November 1989 New York City Marathon United States New York City, United States
2:08:01 Samson Ramadhani 13 April 2003 London Marathon United Kingdom London, United Kingdom
2:07:46 Augustino Paulo Sulle 21 October 2018 Toronto Waterfront Marathon Canada Toronto,
Not unlike Dennis Kimetto whose old WR he just tied.
Only 4 runners have so far beaten Kimetto's time from 7 years ago, but still people act like there's been some crazy record progression going on, and OMG the magic shoes, etc etc.
Great celebration. I think rojo would approve.
Trond: Nice pics. Titus - A tall skinny ectomorph in an event, the marathon, dominated by short people.
He won't even go to the Olympics !
Kipchoge (2:01:39), Cherono (2:03:04) and Kipruto (2:03:30).
Gabriel Geay, new Tanzanian record -2:04:54. Juma Ikaanga - are you looking?
Amos Kipruto 2:03:33

I started reading these stats thinking it was all from yesterday. Milan was deep, just not THAT deep.

Durp durp cheater shoes gave him the extra bounce to celebrate like that. Durp durp shouldn't have the energy to celebrate at the end of a marathon. Cheater shoes durp durp.
He who shall not be named (City in Sweden) couldn't stand after his marathon. When men were men.
