Haven’t seen a list, who will contend?
Jack Rayner, Brett Robinson, Liam Adams, any potential debuts?
Diver, Pashley, Trengrove among the women. Do you think Leanne Pompeani is ready to debut?
I didn’t know they were doing this. Hopefully it’s on YouTube.

Jess Trengove is married, her last name is now Stenson.

Leanne is two years away. She is running Gold Coast 1/2 marathon in July.
Stenson is out with injury. I don’t think Diver or Pashley are running either as they already have the time.

Thanks, do you think Pat Tiernan will eventually go to the classic distance? Tobin-White or Ed Goddard?
Not sure.... Goddard is still very young and supposed to be running in the USA. Tobin-White watched him as a junior triathlete good athlete. Tiernan well he lopes along like no runner I have seen in Australia. Pat's 1/2 marathon tells me that he will make the move to the marathon before 2024. Someone needs to break Deeks record in the age of super shoes. 2:07:51 from 86?

Ed Goddard is definitely going to run a marathon eventually. He averaged about 190kms a week last year and I think he said on Strava that he was going to run a marathon this year, but he is injured now.
I believe it’s more likely that Tobin-White will go to the marathon than Tiernan. I don’t see anyone Aussie runner other than Mcsweyn being able to beat Tiernan over 10000, so I think he’ll stick to the 10000.
Would imagine that Jack could go a lot faster over the marathon than current PB (2:11) considering his consistently strong half distance performances. Also very good racecraft - e.g. 2018 Commonwealth Games
Tobin-White will move to marathon soon. He was going to run London in April 2020 to try and qualify for olympics but got injured. 99% sure hes not racing this weekend.
Dave Ridley and Nick Earl (UK) definitely racing but neither of them will knock anyone out of an Olympic spot.
Stenson out injured so women's field is a big ???
Any link to external sites who discuss this? Location / time of start?

According to the above, Liam Adams, Jack Rayner, Brett Robinson are the names nominated, and one of these will have to set the standard/be selected - if I understand the Aussie procedure correctly??
I’ve heard Lisa Weightman is going there to try and run fast.
I don’t think any top level men are running
Michael Roeger is in. 2.19.33 pb
Milly Clarke has also said she won’t be racing.
This is a total non event. Athlwtics Australia left it far too late to put it on, chose a rubbish location and not a single athlete with a chance of rubbing the time will be racing.
Michael Roger going for the world record is the only thing of note happening here.

Maybe that’s why there is no list so far and no news story from AA
This is not the Australian Olympic Trials. It is a race Athletics Australia are putting on to give Australian and NZ athletes an opportunity to hit a qualifying time. As all the big name Australian marathoners already have the time and Jess Stenson is injured and Milly Clark doesn't want to go to Tokyo 2021 there will not be fast times. As mentioned above, Michael Roeger is the main story here and should take a large amount of time off his T46 2:19 WR/PR. The man is in shape after running 14.00 for 5km a few weeks ago at the Australian 5000m championships.
Megan Keith (14:43) DESTROYS Parker Valby's 5000 PB in Shanghai
2024 Boston marathon - The first non-carbon assisted finisher ran..... 2:34
