Your turn. What is this different restraining mechanism you speak of?
Would that restraining mechanism also stop that fentanyl from flowing through his body?

Can this be any more clear for you people? It's like liberals want him to have been murdered. They want a reason to justify the anger they have built up inside.
That's exactly what they want.
They also don't want to face their ironic indifference to drug OD's, which are more prevalent by far than cop killings by several thousand percent. What's the real crisis here? Why aren't they inclined to be upset about it?
Just like the black on black homicides in Democratic ran cities that do not receive enough attention.

What would you have liked to see them do with a guy drugged up, resisting arrest, and was thrashing around?
Responsible policing.

The police called for an ambulance. Cops in our country do not carry the injectibles needed to help those in an OD status. I have not seen any poster suggest that anyone should be allowed to be executed in the streets. Why do you bring up the color of someone's skin? You really think if GF was a big white dude doing the same thing that they would have found a more humane way to restrain him? Again, what would that process look like?

I'll give you +100 if you can tell us what that looks like in detail. I'll even throw in a smiley face if it can be done without being insulting.

Threads like this easily explain why deaths like this occur in the US. The apologists could form their own parade.
Not a single poster has suggested people in our country abuse drugs or resist an arrest. MOST people in our country know that. We have very few negative police interactions, those that occur are almost always brought on by someone unwilling to follow simple commands.
That doesn't appear to be a view shared by the thousands who took to the streets in protest last year.

Why should I have to give detail about what that looks like? That is not required to know that it is wrong to kneel on Floyd’s neck for minutes, after other officers have suggested you stop and Floyd is unconscious.
Restraint from what? He was handcuffed and on the ground. How was his asphyxiation from Chauvin's knee on his neck a necessary part of that process?
There is a long history in the US of the police treating whites differently from blacks. The black community knows that. You must have missed their protests last year.

Yep and few saw what really happened - they, like you, jumped to conclusions without seeing all the facts, remember?

So you don't have a plan/view for "Responsible policing"?!?!?
Are you an employer or an employee?
I don’t subscribe to the notion that you have to have a perfect solution to know that actions taken were unacceptable.

Do you think it is customary for four police officers to wait with a person needing an ambulance ? With three of them holding the person down? Take a guess why they had to restrain him.
The protests last summer were awful and it's unfortunate that those would happen over situations like what happened with GF and Jakob Blake. I'm okay with peaceful protests but the violence and destruction is not helpful. Solutions are helpful. You know what else is helpful? Following simple police commands!

But you can't suggest a way that they could have handled the situation differently? That is what bothers me. It's easy to Monday morning quarterback a football game but we can't get anyone to ever do that in these rare, unfortunate policing situations.

Most of the people who took to the streets last year never heard of GF or gave a damn about him if they did. The majority of them were ignorant people like yourself. Stick to trying to cancel Mr. Potato head a$$wipe.

Fasciz, you forgot to answer my second question. If you are a student you can also state that.
Just trying to make a point, but need you to continue with the dialogue.

I'm sorry that it frustrates you that I can easily see this was irresponsible policing without having to offer up the perfect way to handle it. That's the truth.

It isn't hard to jump to conclusions when you see someone being lynched in real time. But it obviously didn't upset you.

If what was happening was "customary" we wouldn't be seeing the officers involved facing criminal charges.
When you say, "take a guess" why they had to restrain him, that's exactly what you are doing - guessing. He wasn't armed and posing a threat to their lives or anyone else's. Oh, yeah - he might have passed off a fake 20 dollar bill . .

I'll add to this: the majority of people on the streets existed some where on a spectrum between [absolute ignorance of the details] <-> [uncontrollably emotionally-driven].
As a society, we need to get better at understanding the various phenotypes of our current population. We're always going to have a segment of society, existing in all economic and cultural stratification, that are going to be irrational and create unnecessary headaches. It is the responsibility of ordinary people to not give this slice of society credibility and certainly to not give them access to power in any form.
Not to understate it, they're bad people - there is no other way to put it - and you'll see and realize what I'm talking about when the burning begins again after the acquittal - watch for how they try to convince you what they're doing it right.
Also, your quick-to-emotions and confrontational daughter who made you pay for her social work masters degree is part of the problem.

Most of those "ignorant people" were black Americans with personal experience of policing in a white culture. You must really miss the Confederacy.
