This. I live in Los Angeles and while yes we may have stricter measures than some states, this feels much different than the lockdown we had in March. Everything but grocery stores and medical centers/pharmacies closed. It was a ghost town, people were afraid and not a lot of people left their house. I would go running and see hardly anyone!
Our numbers stayed relatively low given there are 10 million people in LA county.
Our “lockdown” now is still having many retail stores and other businesses stay open and to be honest, people not nearly as scared or they are over it. Lots of people out and about, families still gathering. It almost feels like normal LA business minus maybe traffic a bit less.
I think part of our surge now is people just not following protocol anymore. So yes a super strict lockdown might work, but I can’t see that happening and people would probably fight it.
