Heard a rumor that Petros interviewed at Texas State…
Anyone else hear this?
I heard it. Don’t know how much I trust it
What a curve ball...
What other surprise hires are coming??
I have heard several throws coaches have interviews for the head position

Magness is supposedly out at Houston
I used to think this dude was the next big thing in coaching with his background in science and high level running, but he’s struggled to recruit and develop any athletes there. I’m sure he’s given virtually zero scholarship money to work with, but if you can’t sell kids on Houston and your coaching abilities enough to get decent walk ons who you can develop into contributors… then it’s time to find someone who can.
Any other movement on openings/hirings? I’m hearing UMass Lowell has their guy: Louis Vasquez.
Do his athletes improve? I haven't looked at their progressions. But I'd wager it might be pretty tough to get a "decent" walk on to come to your school where its a concrete jungle (not the best for distance training) and its hot and humid as F*** 10 months out of the year (also not the best for distance training). I know what small number of distance athletes he has, he always has a couple that are at least scoring a few points in a pretty distance loaded conference. Not saying he is the next big thing like you said, but I'd cut him some slack for situation he is handed.
Magness stepped down. Getting out of college coaching is what I've heard.

Taking a position with a UA pro group.
Which ones?
my bet is Reynolds is going to prove he can coach men and women to team conference titles.

UNLV sprints interviews have begun. 70k for a single gender sprints job.
UNLV is also interviewing for the distance job.
Not sure if she left voluntarily or was let go.

He had one male athlete score at the American Athletic Conference Championships. 3rd place in the 800. Yes, Magness' athletes accounted for only 6 points in the conference championship. The American is actually an extremely WEAK distance conference.
His distance women only scored 2 points in the championships. By any metric, he was a FAILURE at Houston.

Does Gavin keep current distance asst? Peterson?
Rogers of Cincinnati to Dartmouth
Calling him a failure at Houston judged on one season? Damn, tough crowd.

How about cross country? Men 7th out of 8 with a dismal 26:42 average for 8k on an easy course (Tulsa averaged 23:58). Women 8th out of 10 with a depressing 23:12 average for 6k.
Too much tweeting, not enough coaching.
