Abdi Nageeye confirmed he will be running too.
I expect some more big names.
If there is to be 40 sub 2.10 men, there will be another dozen East Africans, I presume?

We will see, i pick Peres for winning in Gdynia too.
Do you think Peres would have been good enough if Yeshaneh and Joyciline didn’t fall?

Would like to see Bekele run Valencia/Abu Dhabi/Dubai. He needs to get a good result to go to Tokyo. Biggest talent of his generation, he had a sub2 in him if he had Eliud's discipline. Still, he can win a medal in Tokyo with a good build-up
Do you think they will sneak out some more of the names of the 40 under 2.10 this week?
Add Morris Munene Gachaga over the classic distance, 2.06.24 last year in Amsterdam.
Any thoughts on the women’s half apart from Gidey smashing it?

Recently, the organisers said that eventually more than 50 athletes that took part in Gdynia will be on the start line in Valencia, hence i think tere will be top female athletes in the half. As for now it's pretty shallow.
It's very possible they'll invite more east africans too.
As it stands, Gidey smashes it, Teferi either holds on for a new PB or cracks and Sheila might surprise a few people and do a really good debut race. As i said, hopefully there will be another 5 top notch women out there.
I still think Peres would have won in a sprint. Hopefully Yeshaneh and Joyciline will race in Valencia, maybe Peres too who knows.

Peres and Joyciline are running the longer event.

I'd like to see five or six from the group of 13 in Gdynia who passed 10k in sub 31.40 get dragged along here by those three you mentioned and all get under 66.30.

Sheila had her debut in Prague in Sept., 5th in 67.37
Seems odd some are surprised by the fields, are wondering why Valencia has popped off, and are referring to Valencia doing just fine without being a WMM when their stacked field this year is clearly due to almost zero other opportunities for athletes to run anywhere in the world. Yes, they would still have good fields regardless, but the only reason the fields are what they are is because the pandemic has wiped out most elite races on the normal circuit....

Peres Jepchirchir big favourite
Can't agree. Jepkosgei won a major last year and will beat her both in Poland and here, IMO.
The course and the solid competition will see Peres’ time from Saitama come down, maybe even four minutes, as she is race hardened. But that only gets her to just be under 2.20. I see Joyciline and Birhane being good enough to be quicker.

Mzungu, from the 50 that may be at Valencia: do you think 6-8 might be toeing the start line of the classic distance, either as a debut at the longer distance or those who were using Poland as a build up towards a qualifier for an Olympic qualifying time?

More than likely, because you can't be sure when will your next opportunity will be nowadays. So those who want to do the Marathon in Tokyo(Sapporo), should go for it in Valencia and get the standard.
Amos Kipruto is saying he is in now. Will they name more soon?
Could there be 7 or 8 women under 2.20? This same city broke the record last year with five.
Mzungu, the website now has another 3 women in the half: Genzebe Dibaba making her debut, Dorcas Tuitoek [66.33], and Brenda Jepleting [67.07].
A complete list for the classic distance is now on the website. It is very good. I will copy and paste in ten minutes when I get home.
