School achievement also correlated with family wealth. That doesn't make it racist.

Minorities have less money due to structural racism, hence less money to spend on tutors and practice courses for the exam. I understand the point but the entire system is flawed itself, not just one test.
Except, of course, Asians. Somehow, they have managed to game the SAT despite having less money to spend on tutors like all the privileged white kids.
I don't suppose it will ever be possible to devise a test of learning ability and intelligence. Tests are inherently biased, and should be abolished.
Certain cultures prioritize education. Many Asian kids in the NYC area take classes on Saturdays and in the summer.
Although many are poor there parents understand the importance of education and are willing to pay for tutoring. We have specialized High Schools in the city and Asian kids, and many white kids too will spend their Saturdays and even 4 hours a day in the summer (and over $3,000) preparing for these tests.
Priorities, hang out in the park or study.

I’d be perfectly ok with the elimination of the standardized test requirement for initial (scholarship) eligibility by the NCAA if it was done in conjunction with a return to no competition for first year student-athletes AND a more rigorous progress towards graduation requirement AND first year gpa requirement.
If you are not prepared and ready for HIGHER education level work, consider JUCO.
I’ll start by saying this is an AMAZING idea to put the focus back on the student rather than the athlete.
That said, this will never ever ever ever ever happen. Ever. Way too much talent would jump straight to the professionals. It would destroy basketball and baseball at the collegiate level because the top players can already compete at the highest level. Football - because of age/development - would be an interesting case study.

So? Stop wasting everyone’s time and resources with this amateur student athlete crap.
