Centro is falling into the Alan Webb late-career pattern of revolving coaches, including being one of the few athletes coached by both Salazar and Schumacher.
Yep. Dude is toast.

As i explained unlike years past he actually ran to WIN instead of getting a medal last year, doing all the work to try and bridge the gap to Cheruiyot and eventually reeling in kwemoi
Had he run to get 2nd or 3rd like 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015 I am sure he would have certainly finished better than 8th and most likely medaled.
Centro gave up trying to catch the leaders before the second lap was completed. Strange way of trying to win. In the end, he could not even keep up with most of the pack. Cheruiyot turned what is normally a tactical race (Centro's forte) into a time trial -- something Centro admittedly is not good at.

Hearing rumours that Matthew Centrowitz is no longer training with the team. He has deleted most of his BTC pictures on social media and also appears to have broken up with girlfriend who is on the team. Has he left the team? Discus.
He is still with Bowerman. Do not know if he is still with Shelby or not

I mean more along the lines of BTC members seem to do a lot of volume from what I know of their training, which I didn't think Centro could handle very well without getting injured like many BTC runners have (Bairu, Solinsky, Teg, Hill, Jager last year, etc.). It looks like a large fraction of the team isn't injured now though, maybe Jerry's figured out a better balance of intensity/recovery? I still think Centro could run low 12:50s if he were able to stay healthy and committed to the 5k.

jager did have the navicular injury about a decade ago (before he switched to steeple), which took him out for a significant period of time.

As with a few others, he's planning an exodus back to Pete Julian's group when Salazar is cleared later in the year and they unveil the new branding with Salazar as Coach Emeritus. Am hearing it'll be Centro, Brazier, Murphy, Koko, Sifan, Kejelcha and a soon to be released big name if NCAA XC is cancelled.
Bullshit. Why do people make such elaborate crap up?

Actually, Les is spot on. Centro was a full two seconds behind at 800m and then is swallowed by the back. Never a factor again.
There are also FIVE runners who pass Kwemoi before Centro does. Not sure how he was the one the “reel him in”.
Centro confirmed on IG that he did NOT leave Bowerman

I wouldn’t be too surprised if it’s true he’s no longer with BTC. I thought it was kind of odd Schumacher let him join the group in the first place after running with NOP for so long. I never thought the BTC training would work out very well for Centro either.
He’s currently 30, and I don’t see him being in the sport for too much longer, especially after getting sick and/or injured pretty much every year since 2016. I don’t see him being a Nick Willis-type and managing to run the 1500 in his mid-30s.
Moh Ahmed is also 30. It's not that old.

Centro said on the disappearing IG vid that he did not leave the BTC. Can't watch it anymore but he does read these boards
Mild strain, no reason to push it, race too soon, and aggravate things to make it worse.
Can you people stop creating false narratives, relax, enjoy, be kind, go for a run, be positive.
And cheer for an Olympic gold medalist.
Stop being the negative side of human nature; it’s anoyingly too common.
