Pretty unbelievable they chose the exact moment where the break happened to pan away to the mid pack runners. That’s takes some talent to screw this up that bad.
Heads should roll at ESPN. Hey, let’s show the mid-packers while the 2 massive favorites are neck-and-neck sprinting home with 400m to go.
I live in Minneapolis. What the hell are you talking about? Maybe Somalians, or Ethiopians. But still pretty Lily white. Maybe you're talking about the Swedish and Canadian finishers?

I know they always want to show some of the mid pack runners, but you have to wonder if the producers know anything about cross country. Missing the final move is idiotic.
I mean Ironman somehow missed a sprint finish at 70.3 worlds a couple weekends ago. But they claimed technical difficulties. Not sure what the excuse is here. This was flabbergasting
Lol. You make it seem like Doris is some “flash in the pan”, surprise winner. She’s a diamond league event winner and got 5th in the world champs this year.
She’s a level above Jane and you should have seen that heading into today’s race.
1. Kenya 2. US 3. Kenya 4. US 5. New Zealand 6. US 7. Kenya 8. Sweden 9. Turkiye 10. US 11. Kenya 12. Kenya 13. US 14. Canada 15. Kenya 16. Kenya 17. Kenya 18. Kenya 19. Kenya 20. Kenya
Pretty sad that 75% of the top 20 aren’t even from the US. I thought the NCAA was supposed to be developing US runners, not recruiting already-developed athletes from other countries…
A Touhy or a Valby would have been destroyed today too.... 1. Kenya 2. US 3. Kenya 4. US 5. New Zealand 6. US 7. Kenya 8. Sweden 9. Turkiye 10. US 11. Kenya 12. Kenya 13. US 14. Canada 15. Kenya 16. Kenya 17. Kenya 18. Kenya 19. Kenya 20. Kenya

This is obviously also their fault, but it appeared like they switched cameras because the feed was breaking up rather than as a deliberate production decision.
Jane is a true phenom and ran some truly astounding races, but I think we might have all overhyped ourselves. It wouldn't be the first time. Or the last.

people forgot just how good Doris is. She blew away 2 14:5x 5000 m runners in last 400 last year.

Yes the feed went hazy it wasn’t a production decision.
I see the Doris haters are out in full force. Should she go pro? Yes if there’s a fair contract and she can get her degree. Is she tested probably 5x the average NCAAer? Yes. Did she get screwed out of a potential bronze at Worlds? Also yes. In general, she seems like a likable athlete, and even the story we heard about her sneaking in a run in her time off after Worlds shows competitiveness and a love of running. Jane will have her time but Doris is probably in 14:3x shape, and a deserving champ.
Flanagan won 2003 race in 19:30, leading 7 under 20:00.
In 2022, Valby broke 19:00 on the super-fast TX A&M course, believed to be the first sub-19 on a legit 6k course.
Valby ran 18:55 on the very fast Panorama Farms course to win in 2023, the first sub 19:00 at an NCAA champs.
Two years later, 13 under 19:00.
How many track records do we see at BU in two weeks?
Congrats to sound-running for predicting the NC State win. Not a blow-out as predicted . . . and certainly not a 70 point total as I thought . . . but they got the job done.
OR moved up from 5th last year to 3rd . . . but another sub-par performance. Not the best performances from its #1 & #2 Cherotich & Cherobet. Looks like everyone else ran quite well.
Favorite team Stanford 6th, ranked 9th coming in.
Bunnage ran 19:15.0 for her fastest 6k race ever . . . and finished 30th . . . after 4th last year.
Teammate Kennedy runs 19:16.7 . . . by far her fastest 6k ever and closest finish ever to Bunnage . . . and finished 34th after 33rd last year.
Both have 15:10/5000 prs . . . and they're no where close to the leaders.
As stated above, how many track records & prs go down at BU a couple Saturdays from now?
