Does Millrose pay $25K to the winner, or to anyone who comes in under what was the WR at the start of teh race?
I highly doubt any 2nd place finisher ever collects a world record bonus. By the time they finish, there is already a new and faster world record from the first place finisher. The 2nd-placer really can't say they broke a record, only that they ran faster than the former record.

US mid-distance has arrived, distance running is a little behind

Yea shoutout to Hocker for getting Fisher to get 110% out of himself. Probably best indoor race I’ve watched live.
I was there too and this 100% was the best race of the night. I knew Grant wasn’t done when Hocker took the lead. Incredible!!

Can Kara stop crying during races?
She always cries when it’s Grant. Think she identifies with him as she ran his distances

Cam Meyers took 5 seconds off his own pending world U20 record, right?

It could in theory happen in the multis. I wonder how the bonus played out then?
This thread needs to go in the running Smithsonian.

Distance running is no fun anymore, these shoes and tracks are silly. Wish I ran present day.
This was about racing, and Millrose gave me two of the best races I’ve ever seen in 45 years of being in the sport. Shoes and tracks don’t change what it means for two amazing racers to go head to head.

Now we know why Hull didn’t want to run last week. 8:30 isn’t bad, but subpar for her abilities. She must not be quite there (or off the sauce?)
Hilda with the 8:51. Yikes.
Healy with an 8:30. A 5 second improvement over last week, when she finished just behind Valby.
With Hull, her usual beaming smile on the start line was absent and kinda prefaced what followed. What happened to Hilda, Katelyn and Courtney?

And it betters Reynold Cheruiyots outdoor mile record of 3:48.06.
