2 of those 5 guys (counting Nur) won't make it. And I didn't even mention Klecker.
Hmmm
Ok, Chelimo was impressive last week. Teare and Klecker, no chance.
Still, did you watch this race? Nur looked amazing, and he fell. The fight will be Chelimo v Woody. Fisher and Nur are locks barring injury/illness. I’m going to go out on a limb and pick Nur to win at USAs. Fisher will be the 10 champ this time around.

Nur!!! Great run after a fall. He floats!! Book his ticket to Budapest…..
You sure about that?
Fisher is quite good.
So is Kincaid.
And Chelimo has two Olympic medals.
Plus Cooper Teare isn't exactly awful.

Teare is better in the 1,500 and Klecker is better in the 10K. Chelimo might be better in the 10K right now too. The endurance he is developing is scary, but some of the raw speed looks like it’s going.
Fisher and Kincaid will be tough to beat. Nur can certainly contend for that 3rd spot.

It’s hard to know about Chelimo, yes. He certainly knows how to race at a championship. Let’s see if he tries to make the 10 team. I’m not sure.
Don’t have the Nike campus facilities (and burritos) in Eugene. Everything Jerry touches is falling apart right now.
Kidding aside, it looked like Cranny was sweating significantly more than any of the other runners. They said it was only around 60, so she shouldn’t have been overheating. My guess is she has a slight illness or a woman’s monthly issue that might have impacted her today.

Hope there’s some acute issue that explains what happened. She looked awful out there, especially the last 1200.

It wasn’t just that she tied up. It looked like she wanted to vomit.
The race conditions tonight must have been close to ideal. In the men's 5K the first eight finishers recorded PBs, and a total of 13 PBs, including Lex Young's 13:34.96 HSR.

A good act does not wash out the bad, nor a bad act the good
I think Rupp set his July 31st or something, so probably at least until then.
This is exciting! People talk a ton about the WR trading in the 90s/00s and it sounds so sick, but I never got to experience it. All these HS kids setting records and running super fast is so fun though. Even if the shoes are the culprit, I'd rather have a record battle because of good shoes than because of doping.

The High School 6 mile/10k record used to get traded between McChesney, Chapa, and Hulst way back when, reminds me of that
It will go under the radar, but Neil Gourley running 13:11 could be significant (a 5 second improvement in his previous PB which he set on the BU trampoline track). He's been on a tear since last year, getting better and better. He already had a great kick, if he's got 13:11 strength then he should be in the 1500 medal conversation for Budapest.

He’s on a nice run. In Oslo, we’ll see where he stacks up. To be competitive and in the medal convo, that 1500 PB needs to start coming down.

Agreed, but 3:32 is a good starting point. I think he can squeeze under 3:30 in Oslo if Jakob is really aiming for 3:26. What I like about Gourley right now is that he's consistently improving, he hasn't had a sticky patch since coming through at the British trials. I could say the same about so many others in the 1500 at the minute (Katir, Nuguse, the new Cheruiyot, etc), but it's nice to see Gourley among them - he gets overshadowed a lot by Wightman and Kerr in the UK
If so, women’s 5k team will be interesting. Tuhoy has chance to make.
Did you see the men’s steeple? What happened to Beamish? I really thought he’d get the standard.
He needs to learn how to race differently. He's obviously good, but he continually comes up short when running for standards. He was way too far back for too long in that SC. If he could have hung around 4/5th for most of the race, he'd have been a lot closer to the standard but he gave himself no shot by staying at the back for so long. He must be driving Ritz crazy
Anybody know if tickets are more expensive if you walk up? i was trying to purchase the bundle this morning but I can’t because you must select all three events but the distance classic isn’t part of the list anymore. I wanted to attend the meet today and the concert.
