What punishment? Internet shaming? That's not punishment. And when did "shaming" become such a taboo thing. Shame is what keeps people from being complete a-holes. Maybe if Marlon admitted to skipping the out and back section of the course, apologized, and removed his social media references to his BQ, then it wouldn't have blown up like this. Instead he still avers that he ran this time and doubled down with a bogus Nike+ sub 17 "5k". then he got his minions to attack the whistler-blower.

As for Doubler, he's a guy who used his data analytics skills and applied it to something he enjoys. Sure people cheat in every facet of life, but with sports it's often more cut and dry as to who cheated. And maybe he gets some satisfaction in at least cleaning up this little corner of the world. Why did people make such a big deal about Tom Brady and a few psi. Why is the cycling world bent out of shape over riders potentially using motors in their bikes. Maybe it's just the fallout of a post-Armstong world. Keep up the good work Derek.

Derek, are RDs giving you data or are you scraping their sites. I'm currently working on building a web scraper for race data just for kicks. Then maybe you can find the cheats before they race Boston.

Derp,Scraped from marathonguide. Turns out MG (and athlinks) just scrape from the race sites. The races only send data proactively to Boston.I am planning to do just that - at least I should catch the most obvious ones. I have 2016 race data, and am going to look for outliers vs previous results when I am done with looking at Boston '16.

That's a tough question. Course cutting probably, because the cheater is so actively involved in the deceit and crosses the finish line among people who worked harder for months (or years) and specifically worked harder on that day. You have to be a serious scum bag to cut the course and then cross the finish line with your arms raised, in triumph, put a medal around your neck, pose for pictures - it's beyond messed up. If I was married to someone who did that, I would likely walk away as I can't see any explanation for it. The person who could do that, is just way beyond anything I can relate to, and likely mentally ill.

Doubler -- when are you releasing the names of the other cheaters?

Does Marlon self-identify as a Boston Qualifier? If so, I believe he should be treated as one.

Cutting the course means you probably ran 10-30 km.

Having a friend means you didn't run at all.

Lying about age means you ran the race.

All three are douchebags, but #2 is the doucheiest.

Anyone know if Marlon ran a 10k today?

No 10k on Saturday, but he ran with his team, who was ever so happy to promote. Easy to run slow with clients, as he can say he was 'coaching'. Deleting negative comments off his social media posts, which is his right, but also damning. I find it very sad that his clique seems to dismiss alot of the things that he does, and any calling out of BS is regarded as 'hating' and shaming. They are all really obsessed with the 'brand'. It's sad because if they bothered to take a look at *any* of his races from official race results, they will see that he's not really fast. Even some of the people he coaches are faster than him. He is a great fitness coach (pretty obvious - look at him and his videos), but he needs to stop lying about the "fast" part.

Being an idiot is one thing Mr. T. has been outed for on this thread numerous times, but like a cartoon character who's been hit by a bus he just keeps bouncing back, he's a bit like Marlon in that respect.
