Absolutely true, but 7:30 is a little bit worse than Teare's 1500 pb (3:32) and a good bit worse than his 5k pb (12:52). I think it's a great sign for the rest of his season, especially closing in 27, but not out of line of what he's shown before. I think it puts him in a really good spot to run some big pbs, which it seems like he needs to if he wants to make the team. Anyone know if he's running BU or a 5k soon?

For Myers, I'd say he needs to get into some DLs. 3:47 is absurd for a literal child, but it's about what's necessary for the World Final. Get him some experience racing Jakob and he's got a good shot at top 10 at Worlds.

He certainly proved in this race that he's superseded them, and with his trajectory, you'd expect that gap to grow.

McSweyn hasn't been competitive for years, not sure why he is even invited. He has one card, time trialling. He does not have gears. I showed his 100m splits for Tokyo, no sprint at start to get to front and no kick at end. Yet, his coach Bideau is on record as saying "speed is not important", what a ridiculous thing to say when he got flogged everytime it wasn't a time trial. Then they blamed Covid. I also predicted that he would become a pacer, which happenned last year, now he wouldn't even be able to do that.

It might sound like I don't like the guy, but I feel sorry for the misdirection he has been given vis a vis speed, his running form etc. he had the potential to go to the top

Amazing he is already better than Steve Scott was in his prime, If Myers was born about 40 years ago he would be better than Steve Ovett, Sydney Maree, John Walker in their prime, before he was old enough to legally buy a beer, or in some states drive

I wouldn't be surprised if the 1500/mile WRs will be sub 3:25/3:42 in five years time. In fact, I expect it (and them to be held by non-Africans).

If you went back in a time machine and told this forum a decade ago that an 18 year old Ozzie would run a 3:47 mile indoors, and a 15 year old Kiwi kid a 3:41 1500m on the same day, they would think you were certified insane. They would probably be like - "O.K., so I guess the best Kenyans must be running sub 3:22/3:40 in 2025?"

Keep in mind, Cam Myers has never used The Super Shoes yet, Because if he starts shattering World Records by too big a Margin at his age, people would think he is doping (Which he never has and Never Will) If he wore Super Shoes his times would look like he must be from another planet Like Superman was stronger and faster than People from Earth, because he came from a different Planet (Krypton) and Earth's lesser gravity gave him super powers. Wait Maybe Cam Myers is not from Australia, maybe he is from another Planet.

I hate to be the person to bring up Jim Ryun, but he broke the world record when he was 19. That’s unreal. Myers could get the indoor WR next year if he continues to improve

Sadly, he might end up the same as Gregson. Moving up in distance once it's already too late, and never being competitive in the 5/10 (Stewy) or marathon (Gregson).

Stewy's 10,000 Aussie record years ago at Zatopek 2019 was insane, and he basically never ran another one.
