Lets say he trains for a year then decides he is not cut out for soccer . Will he try long sprinting and try some 800s using the stamina he gains from playing soccer?

Correct.
no
Perhaps
It could be claimed that soccer training improves Bolt's 800 meter ability because we can only speculate how fast he is now.
In a few years Bolt will run a sub 2 hour marathon.
No way he comes back to track to be average in any event.

He won't be average in any event on track because there won't be any comeback. His track career is over, done, out.
I know that Bolt is an incredible athlete, but so much of soccer is skill-based and reliant on years and years of practice. Being fast and athletic is one thing, but you also need to have incredible ball skills to make it in professional soccer. I have kids in soccer and watching them progress in club leagues has been a very eye-opening process. I was wary of the sport at first, even dismissed it for a few years. But it is really tough to make it once you're above 15U. It's no just speed and athleticism. There is a cultivated art to the game that demands practice. It has a craft-like quality to it.

No. End of story. There isn't anymore.
To each question—
Will playing soccer make his 800m faster?
Yes, of course it will. I’m all for promoting people thinking in different ways, but you are a special case of stupid if you think otherwise.
Will he return to the track and race the 800m?
Hell no. See above about being stupid.
Yes it will help. He might get to the point he can break 1:55.

You really have no understanding of running, especially sprinting, if you think any world class sprinter will drop to average in just a few months or years.

You can't run the 800 m with sprinting abilities only. So yes, he's likely only average on that distance.

This is an expanded answer to my yes. Playing soccer will give him training that would lead to better 400/800 times.
No he will never run those events.

Bolt speed+100 miles a week=sub 1:40 800m
Bolt speed + 100 mile weeks = the end of Bolt speed.
