I know about audible but doesn't that cost money or you have to use a credit card for a free trial? is there a free option out there? you can get free mp3s of any music song pretty much, where are all the free audiobooks?

Look at your library's website. They will likely have a way to get free audiobooks via an app like Hoopla or Overdrive. My library has those two and an in-house one. Get a library card, load the apps and listen.

There is a 49 year old in our running community who does nothing but run. Well, he works, but he had no other interests, no children and is a total jerk.
At a race last summer, he didn't too well and was passed the last 200 meters by a female Kenyan. At the awards banquet, he was pounding the table in frustration, saying how he was going to "train his brains out and pound her in the ground next year."
If he only saw the people laughing at him. What a joke.
Cool story bro.
there are loads on youtube you can download. Just download a youtube downloader and away you go.

This. Get a library card. Set up an online library account. Then, you can download books using Libby, Overdrive, Hoopla, or RB Digital. Sometimes, there's a waiting list. I just put a half dozen books on hold and listen to them as they can be checked out. If you find an author you like or a series about a particular detective, for example, you can binge listen to the books in order.
I've never done it, but you can download audiobooks from YouTube using the Tubidy app.
You can download many classics at LibriVox.org.
Unless you live on the sticks, your library will likely have thousands of books to listen to for free.
I would go with the Route 50 freeway. While it goes across america for 3,000 miles, it is in mostly rural areas and has been called the loneliest road in America. That would be perfect for listening to audiobooks

I didn't even know this was an option! Looks like my library does have some ebooks, I'm going to register now and check it out. thanks homies.
Dangit.. It wouldn't let me sign in with my library card number.. I assume the card number is the numbers above the barcode on the back.. Haven't been to the library in a long time hope I don't have any lost books or something.

I don't remember the steps because it's been so long for me, but IIRC you must first create an online account before you can sign in. Call your library and ask someone to walk you through it.
The Fonz approves!
Yes. Pretend to be blind.
Do what people had to do before the internet and audiobooks: Make your own.
Buy a cassette recorder and read the book into the built-in mic. Voila! You have your audiobook.
It may take 8-12 tapes per book though, so stock up.
