A gold and a silver? Lol I don't think so.

Mo's finishing ability has clearly slipped a bit, but this was not a bad effort. Edris this year is just the best runner he's had to face since probably 2012.

Edris is a cheat.
Wait where's the classic 'Farah is a cheat' rhetoric now eh? Now he's clean cause he lost? Lmao.
I thought it was a great race. It's great to see everyone on here and all of the commentators see him lose in a way they didn't expect.
He lost in a tactical race. As it was gong slow, the BBC people were like "this is stupid, they are giving him the race."
But in reality no one is good enough to outrun a 10k champ from the front unless there is some major team tactics. But outkicking a 34-year old who is fighting father time, was possible.
I think that 10k did hurt him. I never thought Farah would lose the 5k after the 10k. The 5k is where I didn't think he as vulnerable (unless he lost the 10k).
But what you see here is why Geb and those guys didn't do as many doubles. They had heats of the 10k. When you are worn out by the 10k, it's a lot harder in the 5k.
After it was over, the BBC was saying that the Ethiopians were using team tactics? Not at all. It was a jogfest and all out sprint. I didn' tsee any tactics but Paula said it was to "get the lead before the bell."I only think they got it because Farah was tired.
They did misjudge their kick a little bit. Edris ran 52.4 but it was 26.0 first 200, 26.4 last 200.

Mo does not live in England. You may be thinking of his family.
I PREDICTED THIS SEE MY POST ON THIS THREAD
I enjoyed the commentators suggestion that Edris was doing the mobot "out of respect for Mo." I mean, cultural differences and all, but that's wasn't my interpretation.

Yeah I'm sure he's "never heard of" EPO. That stuff doesn't exist in Ethiopia.
Ooops!

If you think that EPO is the only way to 'get gud', then your a moran.
What I was trying to hint at is that I wouldn't be surprised if the IAAF mysteriously popped Edris for something he's not taking just so golden boy Mo can be a double-triple-whatever champion. Fits a nice narrative for the sport, and Mo gets to fulfill his legacy as the most recent track GOAT.
rumor has it that erdis is one of the most diciplined athletes around. He doesnt screw around. While DIRTY mo farah travels the world taking needles. ERDIS trains alone!!!!

Honestly I think Gebremeskel in 2012 was even better than Edris this year. Got badly boxed in and still came second in the Olympics and was gaining on Farah with every stride. Who knows what would have happened if he was on Mo's shoulder? Also ran 12:46 that year (with a 54 last lap). However I'm not taking anything away from how Edris ran tonight. The dude dethroned Mo Farah. Props to him.

Did you see the interview? He was devastated with Silver.
I was happy to see someone else win. Not because Mo always wins, but because he always wins the same exact way. I haven't seen all of his big races but I've never seen him just destroy the field from anything less than a lap left in the race. If you are that good, make the field come get you just once.
He's phenomenal, but he's not the GOAT.
Is there a race video or interview with MO anywhere?

That was my interpretation as well. Edris was mocking Mo.
As for the race, I thought the key was when Butchart starting kicking ridiculously early @ 650 meters to go, and Farah ... instead of letting him go the way he let Tiernen go ... started kicking with him. That killed any true 400 meter kick attempt by Farah, and it cost him.
When Mo sprinted to keep the lead from Butchart with about 500 to go, I knew he'd lose. Too fast, too soon. Should have let Butchart lead and saved the move for later.
He'd also worked most of the race to stay up front, very unusual for Farah. Likely worried that Chelimo would run away? Not sure.
Edris might have won anyway, but it would have been harder for him if Mo hadn't sprinted with 500 to go.
Was Butchart's move with 650? I stand corrected. But still think it cost Farah the gold.

Not sure where it was exactly, I'd have to watch the replays. But agreed it was stupid for Farah to start sprinting that early.
So much hate on here... Farah ran a great 10k race which probably cost him the second he needed over the last lap tonight (due to fatigue). Congrats Edris, Mo & Chelimo. Hard luck Yomif.
Indeed too much hate here tonight. Mo gave everything he had, but this race was lost tactically. Sooner or later you have to lose.
Mo is pretty good as I always say. He's a good competitor who can beat a lot of people on the right day. But not today. Poor Tony Tiger is going to cry probably, I hope not though, it's not the end of the world.
Seeing Bolt talking to him in the holding area, and their difference in size, I wondered how much of a head start he'd need if Bolt wanted to beat him up. Then of course Bolt pulls up in the race so it became a moot issue. Now though I wonder why Farah was allowed in there.
