In the security line, they took my backpack for screening because I had a can of tuna. Anyway, my laptop was in one of the baskets and I let it stay there/watched it because I couldn't put it in my backpack. A guy behind me lifted up the basket with my backpack and dropped it hard in another basket. I said "Hey! You know my laptop's in there!" and he said "I know, why didn't you put it back in your bag?" and I said my backpack was over there, to which he said "Oh ho, your backpack is being screened, hah!" and walked off.
It seems like my laptop is okay but I'm pretty annoyed and if something had happened to my laptop, I feel like this guy should have been liable. Especially when he clearly knew my laptop was in there, he could have just asked me instead of taking action on his own.
What are your thoughts? There was a younger guy behind him who was much more polite about this (this guy was older, fat-ish, balding, wearing a suit, so probably one of those "businessmen" types).
