I can't get past that 'Stronger Higher Faster' thing....
couple years ago, the military was considering awarding valor medals to drone operators, the ones who sit in an air-conditioned room and drop bombs from 10,000 miles away.
and I haven't stopped throwing up since golf was included in the Games. I don't know, it seems like the Olympics should be based on human effort coupled with that SHF....I'd argue against equestrian, shooting, and for God's sake no video games.
The golfers don't need the Olympics: they already make millions with 4 major championships every year, and they proved that they need their events catered to them (how many golfers skipped the Olympics due to lack of interest or threats to their personal comfort?). For true Olympians, this meet every 4 years is the only reason for competing. A radio host was recently screaming about golf as a sport by talking up the alleged physical conditioning needed; my replies were Stadler, Craig and Daly, John. A skill, sure, with hand-eye coordination needed. But not an Olympic sport if the exertion is limited to walking four miles while someone else carries your gear.
