Thank God. That was the "lowercase" version btw.
This may have been discussed earlier but maybe someone can shed some light on it for me.
I remember him saying that a nagging injury and a bathroom break hurt his chances for a BQ in Philly '14 . I also remember him saying that he was injured all through his training through Boston '15 until this past July. How in the world did he manage this, a notably hard course and what he considered a pretty good effort only a month and a half before Boston?
look at that DOUCHEBAG GALORE in that BAA Jacket.
This guy has single handedly ruined the Boston Marathon

He also ran Broad Street a couple weeks after Boston and started at a PR pace before slowing and finishing in 1:20. Not something one does if injured.
Looking at his pre-LVM progression (the Broad Street Results page also gives times from selected other races) and knowing his history of obsession with the Boston Marathon after the 2013 Bombing (http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-968354), it looks like he started training and improved through mid-2014 (1:40 half, sub 1:15 ten miler at Broad Street -- fast/aided course), signed up for Via because it was the last weekend to qualify for Boston, realized he had plateaued and would not get close to 3:25, started Via . . . crossed finish line with head down.

All his performances support what we know from what he said but now claims he didn't, he just doesn't have the training mileage to sustain whatever initial pace he sets off at (unless vehicle-aided).
even funnier would be: he actually drove there, filmed him during the "race", and will post the video on Christmas as a surprise gift. one can always hope.

There is no way he can double dip with his LVM cheat time of 3:11 and register for Boston 2016 again with it, right?
I'm keeping an eye for his name to appear in registered runners for any major marathons and will be tipping off the RD of any major race he enters. If he tried to get into Boston again I'm sure the LRC would all join together in petitioning Dave McGillvary to DQ his ass.
Straight from Club Inferno to Philly, baby!

Now I'm fascinated by this thread because it amazes me that people are still obsessed with a 3:11 marathon cheat. The psychology of it all is amazing.
That's exactly the reason I've been lurking for so long. (Though I did contribute the "weaving past 667 runners" post.)
I love the more serious posts about narcissism. If we have any psychologists on this thread, please elaborate.

No, he cannot.
From the BAA website:
For the 2017 Boston Marathon, qualifying times must be run on or after Saturday, September 19, 2015

No, he couldn't have double dipped with his LVM time. I think Boston is sold out anyway, at least for qualifiers. Maybe Mike will try to get in though the charity route, LOL!

For the 2016 Marathon the deadline was the weekend AFTER the Via marathon. I looked this up a long time ago when it was asked. Mike won't be in Boston in 2016.
What's up, Philly! Philly to Boston, Baby!
so good

This is really great news to hear! Thanks for confirming that the cheat won't be in Boston!
Ken, Please leave.

Not sure he would gain enough attention by going the charity route, but wouldn't it be special for him to do it and offer up another Madam Principal letter?
I do know the rules do not apply to everyone and Mike is a VIP.

I think Mike is expecting to be an invited guest with a comped entry and starting with the Elites. He might be the best known runner in Boston!
Maybe they can even set him up at the expo signing Philly to Boston T-Shirts.

Honestly Mike could save a lot of face by making the confession on national TV and donating the proceeds from his appearance to charity. That might actually be the best way out for him.
