and why so I have to seach to get this thread
I'm like 75% convinced that the evidence we know of is all we are going to get (not counting the crazy conspiracy theories). If something new does turn up it's going to be years from now when someone realises that they caught Mike somewhere he shouldn't be in a video or photo. There were hundreds of people will phones and cameras that day so the chances that no one caught something is unlikely so there's always hope for us and a knife edge for Rossi. He knows what he did, we know what he did, I can't think of anything worse than having to be him. Parading his medals and false sense of bravado in an attempt to convince himself that he is a hero, it's pretty pathetic really and I seriously pity him. He is going to have a miserable life because he will never escape that small little voice in the back of his head telling him that he is not worthy. As long as the story never dies there's hope that someone will remember something or spot something in a photo.
Any psychologists out there who can tell us if Mike likely feels any shame, or does a person with narcissism to the extent he displays it, not think like the rest of us would?
If it was me, I would feel embarrassed and ashamed and constantly on edge that my wife and kids and coworkers would find out about what I did. But I'm not sure someone with his personality feels that way.
So, the theory in progress to answer the non-DQ mystery, which our run group thinks fills in all the gaps, is this - Barb McKeever has a penis. You've all seen her recent press release photo, this fact seems obvious, still, it's her/his's secret not ours, but why is it relevant? Simple. On race day she was driving between the start and the finish. She gave Mike Rossi a ride! Why can't she just say this? Because, she has also has a policy - "a$$, grass or gas, nobody rides for free". Because of this, and their mutual attraction for one another, Mike Rossi sucked Barb's dick while getting a ride from her/him to the finish line on race day. So, now Barb can't DQ Mike without him telling the whole world she/he has a penis, and he knows because he sucked on it for roughly 25 miles. And we know Mike sucks dicks - mystery solved, gaps filled in (also a possibility) that's what happened.
Until we get conclusive evidence that this isn't true (i.e. photos of Mike on the race course that day) we really think this is what happened. Don't even try to discredit this without photos of Mike on the race course that day.
Just saw this segment on NBC news about stolen valor and it totally reminded me of Rossi!http://www.today.com/news/stolen-valor-fake-soldiers-pretend-be-war-heroes-popularity-profit-t3356
Valor is for those who have served. Sorry but there is no valor in sport or running because it is just a game.
Do not compare stolen valor to this situation.
So in 5 years where will this thread be?
"Short was finally arrested while walking around the Fort Knox Army post wearing a uniform. He was convicted and spent a year in prison. But there are plenty more like him nationwide: alleged fake soldiers parading around in uniforms and medals they never earned the right to wear."Yes, cheater Mike parading about in his Boston gear and at least two GIVEN NOT EARNED race medals while denying a real qualifier their EARNED position on that starting line in Hopkinton.Mike Rossi, Cheater. Liar. Thief. And VIA shares this equally while failing our sport utterly.

Yes, but he wasn't saying that sport/running was the same as serving your country, but that the crime is similar in that it's inferior weak human beings stealing a recognition they have not earned.

It is comparable so STFU.
I think Mike Rossi is probably a low self esteem guy with a lower-middle class income trying to raise kids in PA. He doesn't understand that for most it takes years to qualify for Boston. It is not a sport you can just take up for 6-18 months and do a marathon off a bucket list and just quit. When Mike Rossi saw he wasn't going to be able to reach his goals, he decided to cheat at lehigh via race.
I don't see how he could afford a lawyer off his income level unless it was just a free consultation. But the lawyer would then charge him by the hour and leave him strapped for cash quickly if the lawyer was going to talk to letsrun or to runnersWorld or to the newspapers and TV station websites.
Also, Mike Rossi just posted a picture of his plaque in the mail from Boston Marathon 2015 displaying his 4hour or 4:01? finishing time? Why would someone 50min off their supposed marathon PR want the time displayed on their Boston Marathon plaque?

It is comparable but not the same thing
I would however like to see marathons stop giving out medals just for finishing. You get a medal when you've actually done something place-wise, not just because you made it through the parade.
The comparison was not about the one who served but the one who did not.Clearly a trolling deflection, Mike and Mike's trolls suffer from diminished mentation.

No way marathons stop giving out participation medals, their target market is participation athletes.
Mike's wife makes most of the money. She's got a nice job at UoP hospital. Which is why she isn't talking. She's the one with all the clout and prestige in her job. He's just a DJ yelling at guests to get their hands in the air like they just don't care.
I am not sure how you can gauge what his financial situation is. There are lawyers for every situation and various rates. You aren't talking about a long protracted trial. In addition, it could be a friend or a family member who is his lawyer. Finally, whoever it is we know that he is not the brightest lawyer out there, so likely can't charge too much an hour, because to suggest or even remotely believe that a quote from one of the most famous movies poses a threat was absurd.
