And so does my torn gluteus medius....
Which one of you pu$$ies would have even tried to run Boston (let alone BSR) with this injury?
None...
I don't run marathons, though I ran 69 minutes for the half and 30 minutes for 10 km a few years ago.
Back in the Fall, I fell while climbing in the mountains and broke both sides of my ankle, my fibula, and tore my syndesmosis ligament. This injury required surgery and multiple screws to fix. When it happened, my climbing partner wanted to phone for a helicopter rescue, as we were several miles from the trailhead, but I insisted on walk-hopping my way all the way back to the car, mostly under my own power... Obviously not the smartest thing to do but, as a climber, I believe strongly in self-reliance and taking responsibility for my own actions, while in the mountains. I also didn't want tax-payers to foot the bill for my own stupidity.
I've never had a torn gluteus medius. Is it worse than my injury?
I also ran cross country collegiate nationals on a knee that was so swollen that I could barely get down a flight of stairs. I ran (at the time) a PB in that race. It isn't difficult to battle through a minor injury when your adrenaline is flowing.
