Did the exif data make it into the pictures posted on the Internet? Do you have an application that can read the exif data?
I was a full-time photographer for a decade, and am ACE-certified in PS. Exif readers can be downloaded anywhere; if anyone needs anything read in particular, I can do it for them (I would just use Bridge).
I am guessing the photogs shot in RAW+low-res JPG and use the JPG files for the online browsing roll. If they are TIFF files, that is odd.

You don't need photoshop if you don't have it. Use the GIMP.
Er, yeah, do this is you want to be a douchebag like Mike Rossi. I'm sure he didn't design the shirt, but whoever did would not appreciate anyone stealing the design.

IP ADDRESS wrote:How do I find the right IP? Google Email
Open the email in Gmail, look to the right near the top of the message and you will see a drop-down arrow. There are about 10 options. Pick "show original". This will give you a text-only, stripped-down version with a lot more routing info, including the possibility of his actual IP rather than the mail server, if he is posting from home.
If it confuses you, copy and paste the lines dealing with his routing info here.
Buried deep in this thread is my post on this previously discussed topic.
The email headers won't tell you anything useful.
What would be useful is kind of elaborate way to harvest his current IP address, and then the site admin can grep their logs to see if he's posting. We know he's reading.
Ok one of his comments from
(second to last picture) really struck a cord with me...
"Robert...people have already posted some of my training runs...i don't see the need to "release" anything. I don't need to prove I ran LV. Someone needs to prove I didn't"
This sounds a lot like something someone would say after talking to a lawyer. Legally, he is right, we need to prove he cheated which he knows we haven't successfully done yet. He's undoubtedly been following this thread page by page and knows exactly what we have on him. I think he's started to get the sense that this investigation will fall through and is now confident enough to talk to the media, respond to people on Facebook, etc.
This is only going to inflate his ego. We need to that key piece of evidence that ends him once and for all.
Mike loves his BAA Shirts, looks like he actually ran philly 5k though...
Never know that was and out and back course with no mat at the turnaround! haha
That's already on my spreadsheet as 29a. I've made it bright red now so it's easier to find

Sounds about right. I'm very old school, so a camera writing two files per image makes sense.
##Totally off topic
RAW though? All the adjustments are so labor intensive for event photography. Maybe they have a modern RAW where the camera is setting gamma and brightness. Again, I'm old school....

That would be an awesome shirt to have, especially if some sort of LRC-related humor was printed on the back.
This photo of the shirt design is actually more than good enough to create a replica by simply creating a vector outline and re-submitting the new high-res image to whatever shirt-making company desired (cafepress, etc). It would look exactly the same.
I could do this, if enough people are interested. I feel bad for being one of the grouchy people that slammed the brojos' Rupp-certified shirt. :)
I definitely want to make a shirt. BUt can I parody that shirt and not get sued.
I thoguth we all agreed the shirt will say "Rose Ruiz". That way there can be no name infringement.

I'd change the "Run, Daddy, Run" to something else though. IMO that crosses a line.
Agreed.
Change it to "Drive, Daddy, Drive."
Dear Mike,
By now you know we have already proven that there is a point on the course that the photographer captured everybody in a way that you couldn't have possibly been on the course. There are no time gaps and there are no secret blurry images of you in the bushes.
1.Please explain why/how it is possible that the photographer was able to capture everybody in an order where you can see the next runner in the background but you aren't there.
2. How often did you run marathon pace before Via?
3. Did you do tempo runs at 7:19 and if so, why didn't you take the opportunity to run your HM at MP leading into Via?
4.. What was your longest pre race tempo at MP?
4. Did you do any training at faster than MP and if so what kinds and how often?
5. You knew that a 3:11 was way faster than your BQ, what made you decide to run 3:11 pace which would result in massive risk of failure?
6. Did you talk to a single runner along the course and if so when?
7.If you were using your chronograph on your GPS watch what was your relative splits?
8. If you didn't use GPS or take splits how did you determine the pace being run was appropriate for an entire marathon?
9. If you knew 7:19 was going to be your Marathon pace, why didn't you run your HM leading into at MP?
10. Where were you getting your training guidance from and can we contact them?
11. Do you have any family members/friends that were along the course that can verify that you ran?
I'll have more questions later, but these will do for now.
Which was an out and back course probably cut the course there as well
makes sense he would cut it since it is his fastest time ever at 7:03/mile. His two other fastest times are from May 2014- a 5 miler (May 18) at 7:11 pace and a 10 miler (May 4th) at 7:29 pace. What are those courses like?
Chances are good that if you cheated once you have cheated before.

Yeah, I re-thought that after posting. There's no was they are taking 19,000+ RAW files. They are likely doing 2 files per shot though for redundancy; with each going to separate cards. Canon does have an sRAW (smaller raw) feature that might make it more feasible. Either way, there's no need for the extra dynamic range for possible post-work if you're essentially taking the same image over and over again. I'm sure they are all JPG files.
I come from a fashion background, although I was a staff photographer for several small magazines as well. Some weddings. I have shot a few road races, however.

The case that he didn't actually run it is strong and anyone who looks at the facts will most certainly conclude he cheated. We layed out the facts on our site today in such a way that the less knowledgeable or those who might say "who cares" will understand the uproar. Not a single person, after seeing the evidence, thinks he didnt cheat (at least so far).
The point is I'm not sure we'll ever find a smoking gun. Perhaps Lehigh won't dq him. If Lehigh doesn't dq him then Boston won't and he'll still have frauded his way into Chicago, but he'll always be "they guy that cheated." He got caught whether he gets dq'd or not. Not getting dq'd is not winning here. He can't win. Unless he comes up with some miracle evidence he ran it, he loses. We all know he's a sad sad man who cheats, bullies and wears Boston jackets inappropriately.
I was curious if Mike was the one posting in the board using fake names so I sent an email to his event company pretending I needed a DJ for a wedding.
Does anyone have the IP's from the fake accounts?

I'm disappointed you havent read the entire thread.
You would be subject to a lawsuit for using the intellectual property (design) of another without consent. If you freehand a parody without any copying, scanning, etc. you would probably get away with it although you might still have to defend yourself. Ironically, the more you mocked him the better chance you'd have if sued.
