There is a 24 hour race of flat laps around a lake this March in which I want to run 50 miles. I'm currently running 50-60mpw with no long runs, and running cross country 8ks & 10ks. Ran 15:20 in college, now in 16:00ish shape and my longest run is 32 miles at around 6:45 pace.
My plan for training is to build up to 20-24 mile long runs with a 90 minute run the day after, and then short runs the rest of the week. Is it as simple as that or should I follow a more specific plan? I'd like to run around 7 minute pace for as long as possible.
