What?
The entire OK team under-performed. I guess mercenaries perform in September and October, but not in November. Two of the transfers didn't even score. Now they graduate 5 scholarship runners and face difficulties even qualifying for nationals next year. Mortgaging the future is dangerous and didn't even get a top five finish. 4 sub-4 milers and 4 5th year senior transfers = 8th place.
Go back to Bridgewater.

Stanford Men. such choke artists. what happens when you have Gingers on your team.
THIS.
Definitely would say Craig Lutz and Parker Stinson
Medina ran hurt, did you see him hop up on to the podium supported by his teammates.
WORST PERFORMANCES:
2) 228th Martin Medina Colorado
I think you're missing a few names here. Here is one:
Aric Van Halen, Colorado
2009 -- 130th
2010 -- 177th
2011 -- didn't compete
2012 -- 36th
Brian Shrader spent two years at Oregon and struggled to make the team. Then transfers to NAU and beats all of the Ducks at NCAAs today. Quite a turnaround. Similar turnaround for NAU's Matt McElroy who transferred from Oklahoma State, helping put NAU onto the podium. I wonder why more talented high school kids don't choose NAU, given the altitude, great trails and solid program.
Maybe it's because they didn't spend the Fall training in Flagstaff this year? As an NAU runner said to me on being recruited to Oklahoma, "if I'm going to be training in Flagstaff, why wouldn't I just go to NAU?"
Add "great coaching" in there as well.

Is it really choking if everyone expects you to choke?
They must put something in the North Carolina water during every Championship season. How else to you explain the total disasters that are NC State, UNC, Duke, and Wake EVERY year, during EVERY season.
To all you high schoolers out there...DON"T go to college in North Carolina!
They recruit state champions and Footlocker guys every year and do nothing with them except get them hurt. That's too bad.
lutz is lame. he's so tough and solid in october.....then mr fizzle. i hope he becomes a good competitive runner in the next 2 years when it matters because i'm tired of hearing how awesome he is and being disappointed later. maybe a good year of track?
Lawi Lalang surprised with third but a fast time and Sambu we know is good but if you think he disappointed by losing to Kennedy Kithuka, you don't realize just how good Kithuka is. He's been under the radar because he was running in NAIA but dominated there, just toying with the other runners.
Saina... She barely beat out girls 3-4 years younger than her...
Not sure if this is fair. Nc state makes the dance every year, duke has made it 3 of the last 4. UNC had the one great recruiting class but then a coaching change. Does wake even get any good recruits? I think those teams are doing fine with what they get recruits-wise.
Craig Lutz a pre-season top-five whimpers to DNF. He is the official choke artist of 2012.
Lutz crying after he stopped.
Injury or Jenny B meltdown from going out too fast?

Strinson was 240/203 and Dunbar was 41/30, and without Dunbar's transfer, they might have finished 29th back with Iona. Dan Lowry for Michigan was picked by some to be top 10 and was 125 (97pts)
Wisconsin's men were rated 4th and finished second -- Iona's were ranked #2 -> 29
Note, Indiana was -6 even without their #1/2 guy, they might have beaten out Texas for 9th (for a -15) with Bayer running.
