Even if he is peaking early he still broke the collegiate and junior record as a true freshman.

Like the 1000m race has been run how many times?
I'll be he could get the 1050 record too.

Can you explain how he ran in the PA State Championship last May, then?

Given that 2 and 3 on the all time list are Alan Webb and Robbie Andrews that seems pretty good.
Penn State doesn't have a miler for DMR greatness.
See a video of the race - the dude goes from 'worst to first'!

Agree completely. This young man, in his first collegiate race is in very good company.
Even money odds that Sandusky State is Malley
How refreshing. A Penn State runner with a kick. How long has it been since that has happened?
Ladies and gentleman, he looks white! For a second i thought my excitement was misdirected.
Why is Webb's time listed as the AJR if Andrews ran faster? Was Andrew's time pending? Not ratified for some reason?
Better yet, not really a kick, just even pacing, pretty much 5x28 second 200, no rest.

Thanks for posting the video link!
Outstanding run (and great to see that he went through the finish and THEN raised his arms). Who's coaching him directly--BAS? Gondak (sp)?

you're right. watching the video it was 28,27,28,28,28. I would have thought to run a record time you'd need to positive split like the 800m

One Hell of an early season work-out.
The guy in second (Endress) was on 2:17 or 2:18 pace until 700m-750m. Although he died badly, I think that he also has a good one in him. That 2:24 time is deceiving. He did not run 29, 29, 29, 29 and 28.x. He ran that time completely wrong. Had he sat behind Creese the whole way, I'm pretty sure that he would have been able to keep up with him. However, he seems like less of a miler than Creese. So I would see him running the 1200 leg of the DMR.
I can't wait to see both of them in the next meet. Endress in the 800 and Creese in the mile.
I do see the makings of a great DMR here...
Actually, we never see the second guy finishing in the video. Who was the guy in the lead at 600m and 800m? We see 2 guys coming up to him at 950m, so I'm not sure if it's the same guy that ended up second.
The leader at 600 and 800 was Ryan Foster (PSU '11), he took over after Owen Dawson lead him through 500 meters.
Did we ever get clarification if the AJR which was broken belonged to Alan Webb at 2:23 or Robbie Andrews at 2:22?
Ok then, replace my comment about Endress with Foster.
Andrews ran 2:22 in HS and he was a junior in HS (he even was a junior after his Freshman yr in University). So he beat Andrews' time (was it ever ratified??)
