HAHAHA he got a head flu and the cold in one week. The dude is sickly
Some people are just sickly it happens. He seems to be fine now and will probably still get second at trials.
dude needs some vitamin c... and bubble wrap
How does that make him the most sick runner? Stomach flu?Ignorant maybe.
I seem to remember that his high school coach made him take massive vitamins every workout. Maybe the guy was on to something.

Those tubes were to treat an infection he got from Achilles surgery. Pics probably taken last summer as he's tube-free now.

I didn't realize that his hairline was looking like Alan Webb pre-plugs.
yeah, those tubes were to help the "open sealed' womb to his achillies after his surgery. I think i read those are common devices used by diabetics??? not sure...
Where did those pictures come from?
Ive been a ritz fan since i first saw him run at Footlocker Nationals in 1999...but he has been EXTREMELY hard to cheer for since his sophmore yr of college bc. he always sick /injured.
Hard to cheer for because of injury and sickness?
That's just cold.
i just meant u want to see some success from one of your favorite athletes from time to time.
Imagine if your favorite pro baseball/football/b'ball etc. team never played bc. they were always sick and injured? AFter years and years itd get difficult to still have same excitement for them after awhile.

womb??
yeah, my bad
The tubes were from a wound vacuum system. They are used to help a non healing open wound heal. Diabetics commonly have non healing wounds but it can happen to anyone. There is very little soft tissue between the Achilles and the skin, if the incision does not heal normally the wound vac creates a negative pressure seal to help it heal faster.
Bizarre. Why would he need to take the vacuum with him? Usually you just pull the vacuum, seal, and disconnect.

The doctor probably told him to keep in on all the time. My father had the same thing (wound vacuum on the achilles). He had to have it on 24/7 carried it with him everywhere. They are designed to be portable (although I've never heard of anyone running with one).
