Has anyone else experienced this bit of fun?
Very early stress reaction in first metatarsal of left foot. Felt like a bone bruise on the top of the foot. A month of no running, just pool and bike exercises, nothing too crazy. For 2 weeks do 1-2 miles a day slow. Everything feels good in the foot.
I've done a gradual ramp up on soft surfaces, no speed, all VERY slow easy running. I'm up to 40 miles a week (usually I do 80 mpw so this isn't high volume by any means). Now the right foot is hurting in the exact same place and way that the left was when it was deemed a stress reaction. What the hell? Is there now a reaction in the other foot? Why would one develop there while doing slow, short, easy running? The left one still feels just fine, all healed up.
Has anyone been through something similar?
