I had it for about a year, worst injury ever... One thing that really helped was rolling my foot over a frozen bottle of water. I also used a tennis ball, as I felt that the golf ball was far too aggressive and was actually doing more damage. This is a delicate injury and requires a lot of patience. If you keep icing it, keep the training intensity low, and keep your calves stretched the pain should gradually go away. Good luck.
