The women got a 29-second head start and prize money was awarded based on overall finish. The men caught the women with less than 200m to go and Gourley outkicked Sam Prakel 3:56.1 to 3:56.4. Matt Centrowitz finished 9th in 4:03.6. GB's Katie Snowden won the women's race in 4:27.3.
