Is it too late to commit to Serbia for World Cross? He earned the spot last month and should do that and still have plenty of time to prepare for the Trials in July.
If he really wants to run the 1500 this summer, I think he's gotta be a front runner. Go out real hard in the final, Nuguse hangs on and takes over in the last lap to win. Kessler probably tries to follow those two and faulters at the end. Hocker scoops up Kessler and Teare in the final 250m.
1. Nuguse
2. Hocker
3. Teare
Otherwise I don't see it happening for him in the 15. (But if he's falling all the way back to 3rd like that, he is VULNERABLE to whoever is in 4th. So he almost has to finish 2nd.)
And I'm not even saying he's good enough to lead like that. I just think there are too many people that can outkick him if they're close. He's got to take them out of those guys.
Could have maybe made the team but was too far back when Cole made the move. Definetly needs to switch to the 5k this summer
horrible position in the early laps, got out and made the move too late, shame but still closed better than I thought based on how boxed in he had been, only 2-tenths off the World team
His tactics and positions are amateur, terrible. His fitness is there. They screwed him out of the USA 1500 final last year. Screwed him over letting Ahmed muhumed cut him off and slow him down last year in the 5k going into the last lap. Screwed him being behind Henry Wynne today who forced him out into lane 2 the entire last lap today.

Yeah tactically a little passive, but put simply it felt pre-race like he was a toss-up vs all these guys with 3:52 or better SBs and he had pretty clear separation on all but Ciattei (who he beat) and Wynne (who just beat him). Crushed the rest of them and not far behind Kessler. Better than Millrose for sure.

He might make the team in the 1500, but Kessler is likely better. He should not be stubborn and see how things fair in other events. Beamish ran his first sc last May and ended up finishing 5th at worlds. Teare’s best future is not as a 1500 runner.

Why would he want to do that? Would he even be in the top 30?
CH is right where he needs to be. CT should be training with Grant Fisher in Utah.
If Grant continues his success for the rest of this year under former hs coach Mike Scannell -- living in Phoenix, coaching coaches as well as GF in his retirement -- we may see more pro distance runners approach Scannell about a similar arrangement.
If that happens, living in Park City would not necessarily be a requirement -- unless the athlete specifically wants to train w/GF and Grant is fine with it. Grant has Mike fly up to UT to supervise his track workouts. Mike may be willing to the same for someone living in Flagstaff or Albuquerque or even Boulder.
closed well and finished just 0.23 seconds behind Kessler. I was impressed and pleasantly surprised. Perhaps Kessler had a bit of an off day, but Teare's performance was impressive nonetheless.
I was also impressed with Henry Wynne, who beat Teare by 0.18 seconds, and Vincent Ciattei, who narrowly lost to Teare. Casey Comber, who beat Teare last week, was well behind this week (7th place).
All these guys could be in the mix at the US Olympic Trials, along with Joe Waskom, Sam Prakel, and maybe Matt Centrowitz.

US teams hard to make, he's going to have a hard time in either 1500 or 5000 this year. 5000 seems the better event for him, but he does have a chance to make the 1500 team in a tactical race or if someone (Nuguse, Hocker, Kessler) has a bad day.

Actually the more tactical it is, the worse for Teare, he is not some 1:44.x guy waiting to happen..Teare has run very fast at multiple distances 3:32.74, Kessler beat him. and has the last two times as well, I do not see that reversing itself. But a 3:50.17 mile, 7:34.x 3K 13:06 5K. Somewhere in there is something, it's just hard to make a 15 or even 5K team now. I do not know how athletic he is, but steeple, is not one of our strongest events, and he would be the fastest "flat" guy trying it recently, I think? He is also only a 1:47.48 guy at 800M, has not run it much to be fair, so not sure how much room he has even at 1500.
But, he is not beating Hocker or Nuguse and most likely not Kessler? At 15.
5K? You have Fisher, Young, a healthy Blanks, Beadlescomb is faster to date, Kincaid is dangerous. It ain't easy out there.
"5K? You have Fisher, Young, a healthy Blanks, Beadlescomb is faster to date, Kincaid is dangerous. It ain't easy out there."
Most likely the first two spots in the 1500 will be Nuguse and Hocker with a lot of very good dudes vying for the third spot (Kessler, Wascom, Green, Wynne, Comber, maybe Centrowitz).
Most likely the first two spots in the 5000 will be Fisher and Nur with a lot of dudes vying for the third spot (Chelimo, Nico Young, Klecker, Beadlescomb, Hacker). I assume Blanks will not be in the mix this year and Kincaid has not looked good so far. (I previously predicted Fisher would finish 5th at the Trials 5000, but I am walking that back given his extraordinary indoor season.)
I think Teare will be watching all of the above closely before making a decision as to which event to run. Right now, I still think his best chance is in the 5000 which is likely to be tactical. In a 13:25-13:30 race, Teare should be very competitive and (who knows) might even win.

I can agree with most of that..expect for what a "tactical" 5K might look like these days, as fast as most of these guys"can" run, that might start to look more like 13:20 or faster? LOL
