Six days after his 7:22.91 WR in the 3,000m at Millrose, Fisher broke the 5,000m record at Boston Universityand also bettered his outright American record of 12:46.96.

Ethan Strand and Colin Sahlman are both in the mile and Cooper Teare's NCAA record of 3:50.39 could be under threat. Plus meet New Mexico's World U20 champion Ishmael Kipkurui.

Blanks ran under the World Championship standard in what may have been his final race for Harvard as Lemngole (14:52.57) just held off Hilda Olemomoi (14:52.84) and just got under Parker Valby's old indoor collegiate record of 14:52.79.

This meet is incredible. A Paris 100m rematdch between Sha'Carri and Julien Alfred. Ingebrigtsen v Hocker v Kerr v Nuguse should make for a memorable 1500, while Beatrice Chebet looks to finish off arguably the greatest women's distance season ever - World xc gold, Olympic 5 and 10,000 gold and world records at 5000 and 10,000, breaking 14:00 and 30:00 in both.

Keely Hodgkinson executed a brilliant front-run to win 800 gold in a negative-split 1:56.72 while Beatrice Chebet outkicked Faith Kipyegon in the final 100 to win the 5k.

The 1st women's distance final doesn't take place until day 4 (Monday) but the race should be worth the wait. Because we are living in the era of the women's distance freak. That is meant as a compliment, because freakish is the only way to describe what women like Faith Kipyegon, Gudaf Tsegay, and Sifan Hassan have been doing in the last five years. It's not just that the trio have run fast -- they have combined to break eight world records in that span -- it is that they have been redefining what is possible for women's distance runners.

Valby is the first woman in collegiate history to win five NCAA distance titles in the same academic year and did it in style by running 14:52.18 to break the collegiate record.

Nico Young was 110m away from closing out a season for the ages with an NCAA outdoor title, but UNC's Wolfe was just too good.

Yomif Kejelcha was 2nd in 12:38.95 as two men broke 12:40 in the same race for the first time ever. Thirteen men broke 13:00 overall, tied for the most ever.

Americans Courtney Lindsey & Kenny Bednarek have been in fine form in 2024 but only one can win the 200 in Doha. Plus Timothy Cheruiyot, Reynold Cheruiyot, and Abel Kipsang against Narve Nordas in the 1500.

Fisher missed the American record by .23 just five days after running an 8:03.62 AR in the 2-mile at Millrose. The UW, Providence, & BYU women all ran super fast DMRs. *UW breaks American record in DMR at Arkansas (9:18.81) The fastest anchor split actually went to UVA's Gary Martin who ran 3:51.

With pacing help from Alicia Monson, Andrews and Courtney Wayment (14:49) both hit the Olympic standard. Andrews is now #2 on the all-time US indoor list.

At 21 years old, Young is the youngest American to break 13:00 by more than three years. Yared Nuguse ran 13:02 in his first 5,000 in three years.

Yared Nuguse has now gone 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 1st in 4 DL appearances while Grant Fisher impressed with a 12:54 5k in his return from injury.
