Dude that was sick. Congrats on the huge week. Please put out more content!
Awesome job! You’ve got a knack for this.

I'd barely even call you a runner, much less a miler.
Nice job omitting the 4:02 1500. OP never claimed to be a great runner. Go be a dbag on a different thread
Nicely done. Good for you to put yourself out there as a good example of how to respond with a positive challenge for yourself. It is easy to lose motivation at a time like this.
Congrats on your first hundred-mile week; may you hit a few more in the future.

This is the classic distance runner attitude that we know and love. Keep in mind why the person recommended coming back with a down week after your first 100. It's about your body and giving it time to adjust/recover, not your mind. Hit a 100, back it down for a week, then continue working your way up to consistent 100s. It'll take a while for your body to be ready for it, take care of your body and you'll get there, don't risk a stress fracture more than you need to.
That's very sensible advice!! True true don't want to risk injury. besides, an 80-90 mile week is still very solid.

This is Dboy. It would not let me post under the name again for some reason. Race turned out okay. First marathon. Went through 20 miles in two hours and then crashed. I did not eat enough before or fuel properly during the race. Last 6.2 took 47:31 for a total time of 2 hours 47 min 31 sec. Not bad for my first and I learned a lot. I think the 100 mile week helped me mentally. Made me feel like I could run through a wall. I did not notice much physically negative or positive. I say go for it. Cool accomplishment and helps you feel tough mentally which can mean a lot come race days.
Wow you were hauling ass through the first 20 miles! Still a very impressive debut at the distance!
Are you still running 100 mpw regularly? Just wrapped up an 87 mile week so I figure a few more weeks and I'll be able to give 100 a shot!
Hey Kevin that was awesome. Loved seeing you accomplish this goal when things were down. I am sorry that your senior season was cancelled. It is really tough on athletes like you who only had this season left. This footage was really good and nice to see some positive! Good work!
Congratulations from the UK!
Best wishes

Please kids, don't be running long mileage or hard workouts during a pandemic.
Go away homophobe.
YMMV sounds like crack pseudo coach Mario Fraoli telling everyone not to run during this pandemic and jeopardize their immune system. Get a life. Running strengthens your immune system. I have no idea why these people are considered coaches.
Well done. Congrats on your accomplishment. I've done 150 mile weeks but this was inspirational. Stay motivated. Keep training. You can do more than you think you can. Have faith. Believe. Trust in Our Lord. Good job.
Good job. Was training to go sub 2:55 in the marathon and was having a great training block when everything got cancelled. I decided I probably wouldn’t be able to hit a PR outside of a race and didn’t want the fitness to go to waste so I had the same idea.
105.1 miles
13:04:49
7:28.04 per/mile
5297 feet of elevation gain
Keep running strong and stay injury free. I think total weekly mileage prs are going to become more popular with races being cancelled. More of a mental challenge than a physical one in my opinion.
Great video. Congrats, am feeling inspired now like others...was training for Boston (sub 2:50, masters runner), Tinman disciple and normally in the 50-65 mpw range with plenty of strides plus two workouts. I may go for a 100 mile week now too, but will need to do a lot at recovery pace (830-9 min pace), and not even sure I will risk any CV or MP pacing.
Great video, thanks for sharing. I’m building up to new weekly mileage records during quarantine, may try this 100 mile thing later in the summer.
Nice job, thanks!
I'm also running 80's on average, this video motivated me to try out 100 miles at some point.

LOL I have been called everything in the book, but scraping around the barrel for this little turd-nugget is priceless. What vegans won't do for their sense of righteous indignation.

That was fantastic! Congratulations! Epic video to always remember your first 100. I ran one 100 mile week while training for a marathon. Most of my weeks were around 70-80 miles. Decided to hit one 100 mile week just to know that I could do it. This definitely brought back great memories. Great video!
How did the race turn out for you? Do you think the 100 mile week helped you run faster/set a PR?
I'm at about 80 mpw right now, thinking of bumping it up to a hundo like this guy did!
Once every 13 weeks do a Superweek: 1.38x the mileage you averaged the previous 12 weeks.
If you've been averaging 80 go for about 110 for a week. Expect your warmup to take longer than normal. Your legs should feel pretty dead, but in a unique way such that running faster feels about as crappy as running slower. So don't be afraid to take advantage of that and make almost everything a progression run where you gradually turn the screw more and more as you feel better and better.
This is the easiest way to get a bump in fitness: demand it of your body.
Good video. Love me some TimeCop1983

I like the sound of that! I'll definitely give that a try sometime in the next month or so!
Thanks Rhodium Nights. That was a lifetime ago. 13 years actually. Different times now as I am 39 with family, job, etc. I ran 30 miles this week. I am slowly increasing my miles with a goal to get up to 50.
87 miles is really strong. I know you will have no problem hitting 100. As you are building up steadily you could probably sit at 100 for at least a few weeks. Do you plan on doing a time trial? Maybe some time trail races on the track. You could set some PRs in a 5000 or 10000.
