Pro tip: If you can't spell a word like "disgusting" correctly, you should probably avoid introducing a word like "idiot" into the conversation.
Just seems like poor strategy, you know?
Does Toxic Air Cause Toxic Masculinity?
8% of a few thousand cases obviously means they're only bothering to test people very ill with pneumonia, in which context it is a meaningless statistic.
They've got about 2000 cases total in their two biggest counties, probably 100 times that number unconfirmed for a real infection mortality rate of .08%, and mortality per population much lower still.
Not testing everyone is the right approach, now that there is plenty of evidence that there are hordes of infected for every case of serious illness.

dude,,....stop.
You have no idea what you are talking about and never have.
Louisiana will be the second hardest-hit state in the US by days end. I put them at 50-50 of passing New York within 3 weeks. Nice work down there.

You really need to stop posting.

Is this because everyone is so unhealthy down there?
This can't be true, since LA is a red state and things there are being managed way better than in NY, CA or WA.
KAG 2020, baby!!!!
There are a number of issues: the infection rate is likely much higher than stated / tested for at this point due to Mardi Gras, they have a high rate of obesity (6th among the states with 36% obese, 64% overweight), they have a high incidence of poverty (48th in household income), and a high rate of Tobacco use (23%, and they still allow it in bars and casinos).
i agree with you. actual cases were masked due to complete testing failure. i fear that new orleans is the condition of every city over 50000 in the country. once the deaths pile up, cities get testing magically as health care workers revolt and newscasts speak out. i live in washington state. where we live it still takes 7-10 days to get a test result. we are about 3-4 weeks into it now and number infected still climbing every day. testing for containment is a thing of the past, need to view entire usa as one big hotspot i fear. in my humble opinion we need a total force china like lockdown right now.
Louisiana has a population of about 4.6 million. The reported 1200 new cases and 54 new deaths today. Statewide total positives is 5237 with 239 fatalities. Louisiana was one of the slowest in the nation to test and to lockdown.
Houston has a population of about 6-7 million. It is currently at 1071 positives and 11 deaths. Houston closed schools and went into lockdown as soon as community spread was detected. Houston has also done a decent job of testing, tracing and quarantining positives and people who have come into contact with positives. The lockdown in Houston is fairly weak, with lots of businesses exempted. But it is clear that early action makes a big difference.
A high amount of unhealthy locals and a high amount of outsider visitors. A perfect storm for the corona virus. I hope this is a wake up call that people need to take better care of themselves.
Also...
9/11 in New York and now Corona
Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and now Corona
Wildfires in California and now Corona
They just can’t win in those places :(
It’s great to Brad Higgins still crunching the numbers.
2,600??
God's punishment for a red state.
trump virus
covfefe
you dismissed the virus before and said come back when it had killed 1 in a million total....or even 1 in 100,000.
Well it has killed 1 in 50,000 in Louisiana. In 2 days.

Two of my friends are married and traveling nurses. They've worked at some prestigious hospitals all over the country and decided they wanted to live in New Orleans for a couple months. Long story short they said the hospitals there were dangerous and unlike anything they'd ever seen in the North. Seriously, don't ever be in a position for a serious hospital stay in the deep south, it sucks down there.
As someone who used to live in New Orleans...
What stood out to me was the general lack of customer service. It permeates EVERYTHING, including healthcare. People always make you feel like you're inconveniencing them, and that includes those in healthcare. There are some wonderful nurses and doctors in the area, but they're generally the exception. I once had to take a family member to the ER, and it was dirty and unwelcoming.
I'm sure the levels of obesity in Louisiana are contributing to the high death rate. I can't help wondering if the level of care is worse than other places as well.

Obese, backwards racist Trump voters.
I went there for a race once. Never again.
New Orleans is predominantly Democrat. Though your broad generalizations make you seem totally non-bigoted yourself.

It's because of the pervert out-of-staters who went there during Mardi Gras and brought their dirty beads with them and threw them everywhere. Mostly from the northeast no doubt.
Are you talking about the Northeastern hospitals?

How far down did you have to go to find one in the south?
Oh, and Baltimore is part of Maryland. During the Civil War, despite being a slave state, Maryland remained on the side of the Union.
so... let me know how far down you had to go to find a southern hospital in the rankings of this country's hospitals.
And, oh by the way, do you see any from Louisiana??
Didn't think so...

Louisiana is a state of good, christian, hardworking, conservative, traditional men and their wives and children.

I have to assume you are being sarcastic here, as your post is also incredibly disrespectful. The phrase "their wives and children" doesn't play very well with most women in the 21st century. How would it sound to you if someone said "good, christian, hardworking, conservative traditional women and their husbands and children?"
