This story is fascinating on a personal level but also leads to a much bigger question.
To me, it shows how seriously they take the quarantine in China and reminds me of a conversation I was having with a buddy yesterday. I told him I was optimistic that everything would peak within a month and within 2 months we'd be getting back to normal as in Wuhan there were zero cases yesterday and that was less than 2 months out from the lockdown.
He disagreed and said something along the lines of, "The Chinese take their lockdown way more seriously than us. They practically chain people to their homes. I think it will spread much more widely in the US than in China."
So I think that's the big question in the coming months. Is the super strict lockdown the key to the Chinese success ? Will our milder version of it in the West work? Or was some of Chinese stuff not necessary and over the top?
We do have several things going for us in much less pollution and much fewer smokers and it's getting closer to summer when hopefully the warmer weather helps.
