the reduced lung capacity from corona virus would be devastating to a pro runner . Hope she is ok.

I say flu
I hope so to. She's a professional runner. Shortness of breath is a severe symptom. They are testing asymptomatic NBA players.
Some won't like this. But. The trials should've been cancelled, IMO.
Wonder how she'll get tested when almost nobody who isn't in Intensive care can get tested?
If she has it now, she didn't get it from Trials.

You're way too late with that opinion.

Someone thought of it.
https://www.letsrun.com/forum/flat_read.php?thread=9862162I can guarantee you corona virus doesn't leave you with permanently reduced lung capacity. Ya, it might take months to return to normal, but you will, use common sense! This isn't some apocalyptic disease.
I pray for Emma and hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Just wonder if she had it at the trials.

Not saying you're wrong, but please explain your thinking. It's not common sense to me.

Isn't it within the incubation period? Ok, nevermind, see below. Sorry to speculate. But they still should have cancelled them in the athlete's best interests.

She went to Spain after the trials on vacation with husband and just got back. She was stuck there briefly in the airport due to the travel restrictions. It was on her Instagram. Spain is a hotbed for this. Surely she picked it up there.

What do you know about pulmonary fibrosis? Quick google search says the scarring doesn't go away, but maybe that's not always true?

I am praying for Emma Bates . Please Lord spare this beautiful and talented young woman.
This is just depressing to read, I hope she’s going to be ok.

Does she have covid 19 or pulmonary fibrosis? Wiki page for covid 19 has no mention of pulmonary fibrosis. Shortness of breath is a sympton, but that isn't scarring of the lungs.

That seems to have finally changed. We had drive through testing today outside a nearby grocery store for people with symptoms who were referred by their doctors.
How ridiculous! There are only THREE symptoms for Covid-19:
Fever
Persistent cough
Shortness of breathe or labored breathing
NOT fatigue or headaches or body aches. Is she an idiot or what???
