I did the conversion myself; Hunter’s flat 3000m converts to 7:53.818 on a banked 200m.
That sounds accurate since there is more rotational torque when the track is banked, meaning he'll turn the curves faster.
Nico’s banked 7:56.96 converts to 8:02.493; Hunter’s record is the superior performance.

Ummm...no.
http://nationalhighschooltrackandfieldhof.org/dwayne-evans/Why do they have Jr National Records?
Does everybody want a trophy?
According to coach Sean Brosan. Nico will NOT be racing anymore indoor races. His biggest target is according to coach an "all out assault" at a 3200 national record at the Arcadia Invitational on April 11th. Nico also said after his race race that a sub 4 isnt a goal of his moving forward cause his training is focused for 3200 and not Mile but is running a mile he said at some point.
This means Nico will have plenty of time train and get even more fit and/ or have some down time as need be since his next "all out assault" isn't till April 11th which isn't for a while. I really wish he went after a sub 4 attempt with pros or college guys as least once, but my assumption is he'll run a mile with high schoolers in California since he's not "attacking" the sub 4 and run one more local.
Id like to see him go after Galen Rupps 13:37 national high school 5K record at one of the Stanford meets for college guys/pros but race unattached if he's allowed.
You won't see Nico race a ton this track season (at least all out)... Arcadia, State, Mile Race or maybe two, a Stanford 5K??, Maybe Brooks PR 2 Mile??? but didn't do it last year so idk about that...
I think running a sub 8:30 by yourself is one daunting task unless Arcadia gets a pacer, OR Cole Sprout Goes with Him and battles him like last year.
Nico is peaked but hopeful that I can get him to switch over to University of Washington. Mike Smith can't train milers but can train for xc, however I can train milers but not xc. Nico will be a bust in every event besides the mile when he gets into college.
Nico Could get invited to Pre Classic for the 2 Mile in a record attempt just Like Verzbicas did is 2011.
He should get a trophy for the fastest kid to break 8 min with horrible stride. Nicos stride is horrible and he is all over the place, if Bronson knew how to coach Nico would have ran 7:50 with good form, kids weak.

So what the **** do you mean?
Everyone knows that LV stands for Lukas Verzbicas the us hs goat
The post by "Communication skills need improving wrote" was brilliant--really brilliant . . . and so very clever and funny. I'm sorry it is not getting the credit it deserves.
No worse than Hassan, or KOKO, or Cain. But they are all women.

I’ll bet this individual argues with their partner constantly about incredibly petty non sense, like who will play the male role in their relationship.
Well spotted. Can you please stop feeding the trolls? You're giving them what they want.
What does Nico's time convert to at 3200? Like 8:35?
IAAF gives 8:33 for full 2M indoors or 8:28 outdoors. I don't think that 200m baked are that much slower than flat 400. Let's just put it at 8:30 for now.

He definitely spends no time in the weight room or with the sprint coach.

Interesting. I am surprised he does not try for the 5k record. April 11 is a little early.
I bet he could set the 2-mile record after the season and the 3200 en route. If I were him, I would definitely try to race a good 5000m.
Lindgren ran 13:44 on a clay track in a pro race in June. Ritz ran 13:44 at USAs in June . Rupp ran some race in the Netherlands on July 31. I would like to see him at least go under 14.

They don't count oversize tracks at all. I ran 4:01.89 on an oversized track in college and although it was a 4:01 mile it was as it never happened.
Iowa State?

There were no pro races in 1964.

Discuss. Is LV record in jeopardy come spring track season?

Clearly talking about the 2 mile record.

You sound like the posters who said Nico peaked at Woodbridge running 13:39 in September and wouldn’t get and better along with his team. Well Nico got a lot better at NXN and at the State meet and so did his team. Nico will continue to improve under the guidance of coach Brosnan and will do extremely well and improve under Mike Smith.
These haters and trolls will never learn and always look to put down athletes, coaches and a teams success. This kid puts it out there on line with his workout and announcing he wants to break a record and you negative posters talk so much crap on him and his coach. Grow up people and take in the greatness. This sports needs people like.
idk, Nico has an interesting stride for sure, I don’t think it’s conducive to super top end speed, but I don’t think he’s wasting energy anywhere except maybe the way he throws his arms around

This one HS run was better than that. He was a junior in 1964 and he ran 1500 meters in 3:39.0, later on that year he made the Men’s 1500 Tokyo Olympic team.
I don’t consider Ryun’s 3:39 his best run in HS.

I mean 99% of HS runners aren't working with sprint coach. And a good amount don't spend much time in the weight room
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
