I think Ryan Hall and Ian Dobson (along with Goucher and Rupp from the Nike Oregon Project) are excellent proof of the success that can be had from training together or in a team environment (don't forget the Hansens too). Kenya has been doing this for years, and they're killing everyone (along with Ethiopa, and yes, Kenyans do have some other advantages as well). I love what Hall and Dobson are doing, and I would love to see more Americans train this way. Our individualistic culture does not translate into a good training strategy. Sure we've had a few really good runners over the past decade or so (Kennedy, Kastor, etc.), but I think we could have so many more if people would stop thinking they have to keep their training secret, and just get together to train. What does everyone else think?
